The good thing about the PS Vita 2000 is that you can buy one without charger for cheap and just charge it with one of the micro USB cables you surely have lying around the house, and even if you don't have one of those they're like 5 dollars max, in the other hand I can assure you the PS Vita charger is not 5 dollars

I bought both, excited to see how they compare in person I used to play with my brother's PS Vita 2000, and loved how portable and slim it was Never had a PS Vita of my own, and excited to get back into some retro games

I did prefer the build quality and OLED screen of the PS Vita 1000 But, I sold mine and kept my PS Vita purely because of the USB charging port

The white Assassin's Creed version vita 1000 is the best way to go in my humble opinion it looks great really hard to pick up any scratches and you can't see the fingerprints nearly as easily as on the black one but you get all the benefits of the 1,000

I've only ever had 1000 The fingerprints don't bother me but I really dislike the face buttons, the edges feel sharp and it's not enjoyable to play for a long time

So I have a bit of a dilemma I own a 3G OLED PS Vita and one of the 3G SD card adapters (need to install) and I own a Slim Vita Which would you mod? both or one or the other? If I CFW my slim, can I still play my physical carts on it? or will it become permanently digital only??? I cant decide and not sure if I should just mod both

Have the OLED model for 11 years still going strong, very well built and sturdy as I dropped it many times and I putting in a pocket during hottest summertime playing it while my hands sweating and I incorrectly stored it in a room that gets over 35 degrees on average Celsius which melted parts of the analog sticks rubber off yet it still goingbrI still play PS1 classics on it from time to time, what a devicebrI can't say the same to Switch its chronic sticks drifting issue is all you need to know about its build quality, plastic on it also felt cheap enough that I never felt comfortable to play without some kind of protective case or silicon over itbrI will get another Vita soon as mine looks like bread crumbs now on the edges

I have both models and I honestly don't know why so many people prefer the fat 'cause it "feels more premium" I'm sorry, but it really doesn't it's just heavier No offense, but in a lot of cases I suspect it's just an excuse to avoid shelling out more money for another console The PSVita Slim wins in every aspect that counts for a portable device: weight, size, ergonomics, button placement, battery life To me, it's not even a contest

Great presentation & comparison Many thanks for your time & effort, plus good commentary along the way I am still debating in my mind whether i should buy a 2nd PSP 2004 or take the plunge and buy a Vita 2000 instead Yes, i believe that the Slim versions of both handhelds are better overall than the originals and i know what U R talking about having a microfiber cloth to keep the Vita 1000 clean all the time - the PSP has the same piano black glossy plastic allover, lol Overall, i would have liked to see in your vid also comparing the speaker quality, as well as both touch screens responsiveness between both Vitas - would have made the vid more complete - as well as (maybe?) a performance comparison, while emulating more systems, besides the mega-man U demonstrated Thanks again & thumbs-up

I got a 1000 from a pawn shop for 75$ it didnt have a charger so it was Kind of a risky buy I ordered a charger from amazon and it works a little scruffed but it works and saved me alot from a private seller or stingy game stores

2000 more comfortable for longplay, but 1000 screen is the best hands down to me Battery life has never been an issue for either

Have had my Vita 1000 for 10 years now and it still runs great I dropped it a couple years back so it has a few cracks but it doesn’t have any burn in and still lasts a few hours before needing a charge

So I really can’t tell that big of difference in the screens I like the buttons on the 2000, but I like the width of the 1000 more The 2000 seems to rounded, and I find that it slips easier So I generally use one of my 1000’s I do agree with the taking the 2000 out and about more

Awesome review, I knew towards the end that you definitely liked the PS Vita 2000 better than the 1000 version I personally own a red and white version of the 1000 series For me the display is way more important than any other feature, as it's definitely eye candy and lets face it we are always staring at the screen all the time But I have to say you did a great job at convincing me to get a PS Vita 2000 Thank you and keep up the great job!

Man its all about that beautiful OLED screen The 2000 model actually feels better to play with But the heavier and nicer build quality of the 1000 along with the superior OLED is the deal breaker for me Problem is finding an OLED model with an unscratched screen at a decent price
