Yeah right I don’t think I can be a good smart ass OPP think differently than companies drivers and they have no respect for others who are not owners Maybe someone puts on their pants 👖 and shoes for them Funny thing is my clothes Lol looks like theirs and I must say for some OP I look better You know maintenance on hygiene which you must have done daily or at least every 8 days 😂😂😂😂 Comment from : Kenneth Snyder |
Yes the synthetic oil doesn’t wear out like the organic oils but it does still get Dirty I would suggest changing your oil filter in the middle of your mileage Comment from : perry lc |
I’m leaning towards getting my own semi truck as a new driver i hate getting rejected by this companies just for not having experience in the trucking business every time is the same answer oh you don’t have experience our policy is one year experience minimum 🤬 Comment from : mqmoreno23 |

Thank you Brian for your insight on becoming an owner operator, you knowledge and experience is greatly appreciated! Comment from : stephen brooks |

I'm sorry to prove you wrong on that it's better if you change your oil every 12000 to 15000 miles because everything depends on the miles that you have in your truck if your truck has 200 something thousand miles it's okay for you to change it every 30,000 miles but if your truck you get a used and you already put over a million miles it's better to have the cleanest oil or do a oil change every 12 to 15,000 miles because one thing the oils comes with a lubrication that gets worn out by the time of used in Auto so contains detergents to clean out the carbon monoxide and keep your engine clean through the inside of the engine compartment that's why most mechanics recommends you to change it every 12 to 15,000 miles it all depends how you run your books and your finances Comment from : Tony Morales |
To be honest, and this may sound horrible to say but it's my truth I just want to get away from people I want to hit the open road to explore the country and make money doing it Comment from : Xglock_shockX |

Loved the vid I am a new CDL holder and I'm looking for a second career after retiring from the federal government I love how you present the information on the intricacies of owner operator now my question is can I without prior working for a company become an owner operator and learn as I go?? keeping in mind the advice that you gave regarding the finances and records keeping By the way the video on the transmission wheelbase and gear ratios was spot on because I could hardly get any information on the web about those topics I would really appreciate it if you can answer the aforementioned question Comment from : Carmelo Viera |

I just wanted to see if this made sense to a truck driver: You need a CDL to operate a 35 foot semi trailer, but you don’t to haul a camper that’s 35 feet Comment from : Cole Cooper |
Great video Brian, I definitely agree in buying a truck for your application Luckily when I bought mine, it's the truck I've been driving the past 3 years I know the full history on everything on it, plus it's a glider kit, so even better haha Comment from : DrtyDiesel |

Great video with lots of great info for up and coming owner ops I’m currently looking to trade my truck in, which is my first actual financed truck, bought it with 450k miles, now it has 834 But I’m putting back 1 grand every week for maintenance alone I’ll continue to do that even when I get my next truck Even though my next one will be used but new enough to have a good amount of factory warranty left, my maintenance account will turn into a simple extra safety net should my truck be down a month for warranty work Comment from : Survive To Thrive |

Thanks Comment from : playersteven007 |

I have a bias to new trucks, I think they're better for the demands of today But, and it's a big but most people fail, they don't go in properly prepared, or any amount of bad luck can shut you down If you buy a 50,000 truck and fail, and sell it for 30,000 you as a trucker can likely afford to make payments on a 20,000 dollar note But, if you fail in a 200,000 truck sell it for 70,000 not a chance in hell you'll be able to afford a 130,000 truck note working as a company driver Comment from : Mr |
Excellent video, tons of good advice:) Comment from : Kelly Patterson |
Hi Thank you for sharing These are amazing tips However, used trucks I am guessing will majority be manual transmission trucks In couple of years time do you think there will be trucks with automatic transmission in affordable range ? I am sure all the automatic trucks will come with DPF systems that you can't get away Comment from : Bilal Khan |

After 42 years of operating 3 months lease payments, insurance, and personal commitments plus 15k in the bank before you buy the truck I know it’s a lot of money and doesn’t seem possible but that way you can concentrate on learning to be abrProfessional operator Also you won’t be a desperate owner that has no choice but to run cheap Comment from : Diesel |

if you could move to any state to start a trucking company with own interstate authority what state would you "open shop"? brI currently live in NJ and my state taxes you to death, insurance is outrageous, i just want to move to the best state to move to Must have low insurance premiums, low or no personal or corporate taxes, low workman's comp insurance (if i want to hire employees) I was thinking Wyoming or Texas and maybe Tennessee Any Thoughts ?
