hi! awesome video! can i get a sugestion from you please? i have google home and also alexa in my apartament i have only SONOFF wall switches (the touch kind with wifi and rf) and xiaomi aqara body sensors, window sensors, windo curtain motors, fire, gas, water, temp sensors i am able to use my sonoff switches with google home and alexa, but i cant get my xiaomi things to work with voice since xiaomi or goolgle removed their integration so, which hub you think i can get to do all of this? i thank you soooo much for your input if possible! The Harmony Hub does work without internet As long as your router still works, you can still control your system with your cellphone because it utilizes your local network I prefer the use of hubs because I like the lights to still work in the event of an internet outage 😁 Comment from : Onyx |

This was actually SUPER helpful, the clearest thing I've seen so far! I wonder if I can ask for your advice though We live in the UK and are disabled people who live independently We are looking for a system that can do lights, door opening/closing/locking, curtain opening and door bell answering I would prefer it to be voice activated So far, it sounds like a Google Mini (with a good bluetooth speaker for music) with the Smart Things hub seems like our best option But I've struggled to find cutrain openers/door openers that are able to link Would you have any suggestions or advice? Has the smartthings gotten any better I bought it a few years ago and I had tons of problems with phantom notifications and things turning on and off randomly I ended up returning it because it was so horrible I also had the hue bulbs and had two go out within 6 months Returned this also I ended getting the echo and the wemo light switches and outlets This has worked pretty good so far but now I loose some automation functions this way I'd say they work about 95 of the time Comment from : Jared Braun |

Love your videos Chris! Seriously keep them coming and the subscribers will come, you're doing everything right in my opinion and as this whole home automation for your average consumer expands I think your channel will grow exponentially I did have one question though, you can add the google skill to Alexa so you can do a "Alexa, ask google" with this functionality do you get the same ability you would with assistant on your Echo or is it literally just running the question through Google's search engine and depriving you of any other services they offer through assistant? Thanks so much, really hope you can respond as I'm decently invested in Echo, but as I notice partnerships being forged by both Amazon and Google I want an easy way to not leave myself out of getting the next great tech just because Amazon chose not to work with a particular company Comment from : ImaITman |

Can you make a video on how to set up a small home network PLEASE I have the smartthings hub, philips hue hub, Lutron hub, Apple TV, ps4, amazon fire tv, orbi router, harmony hub all in one central location and it looks a mess with all the Ethernet cables and power cords I am going to add the netgear arlo pro 2 which is another Ethernet cable I have watched other videos on home networks but no one really explains how to start a small home network and what u need How did you set up your central location for all your smart hubs and devices? Your Honeywell alarm keypad is nice! Do you have to pay a monthly bill for central monitoring? Or is it a part of your local home based HA setup? brI can only set arm/disarm my keypad using Gaurdians alarmcom app & website, Alexa has an alarmcom skill that will voice arm it but she does not see it as a device, nor does HomeKit Basically it’s not an HA smart keypad It only remotely arms because I pay Gaurdian monthly for the Alarmcom access/feature Comment from : AJ CoRe TV |
