I shot a shotgun for the first time yesterday I got the nickname Dead Eye, a term I never heard before Out of 5 shots I hit it three more that the gun owner from the same distance I also an archer, out of 10 shots I only missed twice brbrThose two times I was "aiming" with the scope I don't miss when I don't aimbrbrBasically, I shot only when it feels right

Good habits (practices) becoming 2nd nature is critical And there is ONLY THIS shot There are no others You can't call back the shot you just squeezed into the eight ring This shot right here So many men I've known who left the schoolhouse in grade school to work to supply their familys The young boy that had one round and he had to bring home dinner with that round Funny how those guys are all expert marksman today That is exactly what my father had to do and he was an unbelievable shooter

Ps I've been fortunate to get game with 22's 32 Winchester Special 357 & 44 magnums, as well as my 60 lb recurve bow over the years, so know a bit of the joy of hunting Have bagged squirrels, rabbits, coyotes, deer, elk, caribou & a cougar Bought a 12 gauge to try feral hogs and self defense Actually, all my weapons are good for self defense

The biggest improvement made in my own shooting was having the rifle fitted to me One of the most overlooked things in my opinion The second thing is getting off of the bench Third I hunt squirrels, both of the pot and for the pelt, you can tie a lot of trout flies off of a squirrel pelt 22 LR and headshots You really learn field marksmanship along with good stalking and woodcraft skills In my best season before the rifle deer season, I took my season limit of squirrels, 40 of them and I still had 4 rounds left in the 50 round box of 22 LR Oh and I learn more from the misses than from the hits Now I have to ask permission to buy a box of 22's and pay for a permit to do so here in CT, I will not since it's a violation of my rights under the bill of rights of the Constitution of the United States and the State of Connecticut So with a big FU to the State, a Crosswbow came into my life, no real disadvantage over a rifle( I got plenty of ammo for deer hunting) My recurve bow with a string and a sharp stick, I can still put deer on the ground, in spite of the fools in Hartford We are working on over tuning these laws, it will end up at the Supreme Court If the New York case goes our way, it may be sooner than later

I'm 35 and been shooting since I was old enough to carry a pellet gun out in the woods following my dad, uncles, and squirrel dogs This was probably one of the best breakdowns of the proper fundamentals for marksmanship I've ever heard Good stuff and great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
