Could you build a Shortcut with the most notable settings changes so that all settings could be toggled off/on? I’m not super familiar with Shortcuts

I'm all for replacing batteries instead of phone upgrades Just replaced my Xs's battery last year They tech who did it was scratching his head why I would do that on a dated phone I told him this was 512gb version and was a flagship phone when it came out just a few years ago It does everything I need it to do and will likely receive security updates many years out I just updated it to IOS 17 and that's probably the last OS upgrade it'll get but they still get security updates beyond that For about $75, replacing a battery at least once during its lifetime is a smart move

I used inbuilt shortcuts apps to make phone announce once battery reaches 80 charge and turn on low power mode automatically when battery charge falls below 30

If you had your phone for 5 months and your battery health shows 100 just know that’s just apple being apple and it’s all impossible There are many ways to check the how many cycles there are on the battery and check the actual capacity For example my 14 pro max is at 100 and I’ve had it for a few months When I actually checked a proper source it showed 9535 with over 130 cycles MUCH more realistic

I used keep my iPhone 14pro max on optimised charge but than phone heats up while charging so I switched it off that drain my iPhone 14 pro max life significantly It now to 88 I got on last December So not an year pass But my iPhone 13 Pro Max had battery health of 97 when I sold to a friend which was not even one year Both had Apple warranty

On your Dark Mode section: The iPhone Xr and iPhone 11 do not have an OLED Panel It was introduced in the "low budget" Versions with the iPhone 12

I use Shortcuts to when my battery life reduces below 25 to automatically enable low power mode and lower cellular data to LTE In order for this to be useful, you need a separate Shortcut to turn off low power mode and re-enable 5G once battery life exceeds 25

Man this is such a joke in general apple is always behind in terms of hardware and software features Whats the use of all the features which are present if they are switched off to preserve battery Apple should have a decline in the sales to rework the business model They have some of the most predatory business practices Its absurd how a device in 2023 for 800$ will not have a 120hz refresh rate panel I know not everyone uses it but that doesn’t mean that they can exploit it For apple alone people come up with various excuses Their devices definitely need bigger batteries and cooling systems for their chips It’s a bad joke they took the chargers for the sake of environment

The million-dollar question for me is if putting the phone on charge for 30 mins during my day would prevent me from doing all these things is it really worth it? Nice tips not arguing that but living how we life our lives charging a phone for 2 times in a day is not a big deal except while traveling I think we are looking at the problem in the wrong way we should change our perspective instead of trying to squeeze every last bit of juice from a single battery charge we should accommodate a second topup during the day and thanks wonders for wireless charging in cars etc it has become easy

I'd generally advise against doing many of these You may save a small amount of battery, but unless you're regularly running flat before you get home to charge a little, it's just reducing the quality of your experience for marginal gains that probably aren't making a material difference unless you're that guy whose phone dies 15 minutes before you get home each day, which I imagine is a very small number of people You may also create issues that aren't so easy to troubleshoot down the line when an app is behaving strangely and you don't know why because you forgot you turned off some feature 3 years ago and it relies on that feature, like Background App Refresh I'd strongly suggest leaving your phone in its best state and just using Low Power Mode if you need some extra stamina from time to time, as you won't forget you did that Many of these settings are remembered in backups so could follow you to your next iPhone Quick point of order, the standard iPhone 11 is LCD, not OLED
