I'm 72, noticed i had this tinitus about 3 years ago And i think it came upn me soon after going to starbucks everyday and wearing headphones that uses a AAA battery in the headphone, whic is only an inch from your ear drum / nerve, i quit using those headphones, but still have the high pitch sound in ears, sounds like electric power lines shorting

It's worth to mention that tinnitus is different from individual to individual This makes a bit worse for me and gives me some kind of an anxious feeling since my tinnitus seems to become more "real" instead of only being subtle in my ears It is getting a bit worse with age, though
