Toroid transformer itself does not convert AC into a DC, to do that there has to be a separate circuit after it But in fact the quality of converted AC/AC by that transformer is high Comment from : Firefox |

also AC goes outside Comment from : Piotr Rzeszut |
1300 watts is how much power it can output 2 ohms is the impedance, or how much power is being lost as heat do to resistance 2 ohms is very low by the way, which is good because the less loss from heat the more power is reaching the driver Comment from : kenstr321 |

Mitchell doesn't need a concept of money He can determine something's inherent worth by licking alone Comment from : Maxx B |

Little Fun fact: in Germany we call this type of Transformer ,,Ringkerntrafo,, Comment from : Gordon Belfort |
Transformers do NOT convert AC to DC, they take AC voltage and using induction they transform voltage, a single diode can transform half of AC to DC, but to do the best job of turning single phase AC you need 4 diodes in a full bridge rectifier configuration, or as electroboom aka Mehdi would say a FULL BRIDGE RECTIFIER Comment from : Akin Turhan |
Only just noticed that the music is by David CUTTER Comment from : GreenMan |

but it's an amplifier, not a rectifier Comment from : eivilcow |
Thought it was cake Comment from : Lex Luthor |

Transformers step up, or step down alternating current To convert alternating current to direct current, which is ac to dc, you would want to use a circuit called a rectifier Toroidal cores can also be create things like inductors which help buffer the flow of current! Comment from : Steven Miller |
Pity you couldn't cut the potting compound off, uncoil the wire, and save the core A ferrite core of that size and composition is incredibly precious and useful Comment from : D Jensen |
Just cut a lot of money with lots of money :) brbrbrTransformers only couple AC voltages AC input and you get AC output Love the channel! Comment from : Dollar Guy |

You are some goofy, funny, f**kers I appreciate your messed up sense of humor brbrYou should probably see the doc for some prescription creams for your toroids Comment from : shawn grabowski |
Ohnoes that poor transformer, I wish they sent me something lol Comment from : Charles Nolan |
I'm only gonna take a guess here, but I think that thing is a giant balunessentially an impedance transformer It takes the high impedance audio signal and converts it into an impedance for the speakers Think of it mechanically like a gear I could be wrong though, so don't quote me All I can say is that was pretty cool watching being sliced in half Comment from : punishedexistence |
Stick to water jets 😎electronics isn’t your gig! 😎 Comment from : Tyler Costantini |
Love ya channel! Very informative Please do the xtrema cookware experiment to reveal what underneath it It will help many learn bout it Thank you Comment from : kelvin bharath |
I learned that Parasound doesn’t want their big transformer to be user serviceable Or even serviceable at all It’s hard to imagine what could go wrong with copper that thick I guess it could overheat and melt the insulator Especially when heat can’t escape due to all the resin Hmm I think I’ll pass Comment from : Joey Mormann |
A transformer just converts AC voltage to a different AC voltage either up or down Comment from : Cape Cod CNC |
That might be an output transformer If it is it matches the high impedance output of a vacuum tube amp circuit with the low impedance speaker Comment from : SteveO |
will you ever know what you forehead taste like Comment from : weedeater49cc |

You guys are a trip Keep up the good work Comment from : Mr_ jakey |
Looks like a cake Comment from : Alice Hargest |
TRANSFORMERS NEVER CONVERT AC TO DC THEY REDUCE OR INCREASE VOLTAGE AND SOMETIME EVEN KEEP IT THE SAME VOLTAGE FOR ISOLATION PURPOSES DIODES AND CERTAIN CONFIGURATIONS OF DIODES KNOWN AS bFULL BRIDGE RECTIFIERS/b ARE WHAT TURN AC INTO DC WITH THE HELP OF CAPACITORS AND SOMETIMES INDUCTORS TO SMOOTH RIPPLES IN THE VOLTAGE UNDER LOAD Comment from : jjhack3r |
i saw you cut everything, but can you cut performace diesel piston? Comment from : Michal Pastor |

Hi-end transformer lolbrAudiophiles are funny xD Comment from : 沼 |
It is ac to ac and it is just a transformer (so for example 230v ac in 24v ac out) Comment from : Tristan Hameleers |
Transformers transforms low voltage-high current to high voltage-low current OR high voltage-low current to low voltage-high currentbrbrAudio output transformers transform the high voltage AC-low current inside the amp to low voltage AC-high current to drive a dynamic speaker load Comment from : Matt Fields |
A transformer does not change AC current to DC current A Full Wave Bridge Rectifier does that It comes after the transformer Transformers change the voltage and amperage Comment from : Stanley Denning |
LMAO you guys combined like 4 different components into 1 Comment from : Marc Bedard |
Mitchell's beard is lookin healthy! Comment from : Knob Job |
"Also why women are so expensive"brBroski is a fellow chubby chaser! Comment from : grovermatic |
Instead of cutting things in half, how do you think the channel would've evolved if you cut things in fifths? Comment from : Floortile83 |
nah a transformer raises or lowers the voltage of ac current idk too much about audio equipment but im guessing it takes the speaker signal (which would be ac) and raises it Comment from : lil matt19 |
Reminds me of that movie, "Idiocracy" Comment from : aecrim1969 |

Guys from parasound make 1300W transformer with FERRITE core but it working on domestic frequency 60Hz Dafak? This mass of ferrite is more than enought to build "normal" high frequency transformer with power capability in range od 50-100kW Amount of copper is too big, so resistance of winding is big Metal shielding is close to wingind and it have enormous high capacitive coupling and high frequency current can flow by it but this shielding is not complete - bottom part have no shielding brPlease buy normal audio transformer - full metal jacket (shileding), core can suppres high frequency current and it is quite cause ofc flooded by resin And you should save something like $7k Comment from : romanowskis1at |
AC/DC 🤘🏼 Comment from : Alex The Ok |

ah yes thousand million Comment from : Audun |
Photonicinduction: that is a cute little paper weight! Comment from : Daniel Willems |
Ok, so what a transformer does, is it takes an incoming power signal and transforms it into another signal of different voltage and current So likely due to the number of turns around that iron core, it's converting the 120 volts from an average outlet into a significantly lower voltage, by raising the current To change it into DC you use what's called a rectifier and that's a completely different device with it's own goof soup going on Comment from : Zalseon |
New editor? Comment from : Siro Stehrenberger |
