Going back and rewatching this scene always gives me a new viewpoint This time around it made me feel like they might have given Bertholdt a final chance to live, especially now knowing about the new Titan and whatnot, but this time they truly didn’t have a choice It was either losing Armin and Erwin or letting a person who was apart of this whole disaster love while the ones you care for most of all die
