Hi doctorbr I am now 20 years old and I am studying computer engineering at university and I am seriously pursuing programming outside of university because I am interested but my serious interest is psychology and I want to pursue psychology as a profession after my bachelor's degree in computer science In addition to interest, I considered programming as a source of income so that after starting psychology, I could more easily cover the expensesbr Please advise, do you agree with this program? Thank you so much this video helped me I am a junior in high school and I do not want to go into clinical psychology or become a therapist of any sort I was questioning whether I just like learning about psychology or if I would be able to pursue a career in it After watching I now have a better idea of what career I want to do I am in sociology and psychology right now and next year I’m going to take AP psych I really like the social side of it I think Thank you so much again this is the first video I found that helped me a lot!

in 10 min I have an appointment with my academical advisor, and I want to discuss the posibility to change my major to psyc, and certaainly, this video gives me a little bit more of a reality check and makes me see that I'm truly interested in psy, I'm nervous about how everything is going to turn, cause I don't have my mind settle exactly in what I want to do in the future, but watching this type of videos make me feel more calm

I came to college to major in computer science and while I've obtained extremely useful information, I'm starting to see what the industry is actually like and I'm not sure if it's the best fit for me I don't want to work in cybersecurity or for the military and that's what a lot of these courses push for I took an introduction to sociology course and I was may more into it compared to my other classes I want to learn and expand into psychology and get a job related more to that field I'm especially interested in working with those with Autism/ADHD

Im a highschool student, my last 2 years so im deciding what i want to do with my life I found that i liked architecture and delve head first into the world of it I loved the fact that you could learn it through minecraft but later found out it simply wasnt for me Its a discipline and its not for me I eventually seen a 2016 personality lecture from Jordan peterson I watched it just because ive always had a thing for professors and personality and just like you, it changed my life I began to think differently, i became more mindful, it felt like i instantly matured ive watched ATLEAST 12 hours of the 2016 personality lectures Ive decided i want to go to college AND pursue a degree in psychology in hopes of becoming a clinical psychologist So now im watching videos like this to see what id really be getting myself into I also started my journey of self igs youd call it and feel like this is apart of it I actually ended up buying stephen coveys 7 habits of highly effective people and thats what started my journey, i began to question myself and people differently

so i was thinking about becoming an mht, but after further research i don’t believe i’ll be able to make a living wage with that job what does it take to become one of the social workers in a hospital? i would like to be somewhat of a mental health technician, id really love to help people with their mental health issues however, i don’t think becoming a therapist or a psychiatrist is the right path for me brbri wonder if majoring in psychology would help with any of these career paths? or should i take up something like nursing?

When I got my Masters in Analytical Psychology, I left my home country to do so I was in a long distance relationship at the time One day I went to a Case Study meeting focused on discussing Narcissistic Personality Disorder It was in that meeting that I realized, I was dating that person I’m so grateful that my academic journey took me far away from everything I knew, so I could look at it more objectively than ever before I’m also happy to say that it was after that meeting that I broke the wheel of generational patterns and found a partner that is actually healthy and compatible 🥰 and I owe that all to the field of Psychology

Let’s be transparent about this Unless you are going to graduate school, most jobs such as ABA, RBT (which you can get without a bachelors), drug counselor etc Are not paid well… or at least not worth the time for a 4 year major I just graduated from a psychology major and believe me it’s hard to find jobs that pay more than $21/hrbrAlso graduate school is competitive and expensive (depending on the program), usually in CA it’s >$20k So you better be financially stable, find scholarships and get the necessary helpbrNot wanting to get people discouraged… but this video lacks an important element which is: Realism Unless you are realistic and clearly know about the major you are getting into… don’t risk your time and financial aid brDon’t get me wrong I love my major, but loving what you do won’t pay the rent 🤷🏻‍♀️brYour choice

I got interested in psychology when I went through a rough patch back in 2018 Been crying a lot, always anxious, scared and I thought that I should do something to improve my experience because I can't keep living like this So I started reading Csikszentmihalyi's Flow and Manson's Subtle Art and have been reading lots of psychology books ever since I had dived into Jung and Frankl, and the connection between Stoicism and CBT The thing is, all those years reading and studying psychology on my own, I was an IT major I realized it way too late that I should have majored in psychology
