You'd routinely mention online needing to be a core feature for this type of game, but for me, it was never necessary as someone who mostly buys these game for localized co-op on the Switch Can't much imagine playing these games with random people (and without the ability to communicate), so I'm more seeing it on as an optional feature based on whether or not there's going to be a predictably good size of players onlinebrbrIf there's to be online, don't bother unless you're willing to make it crossplay for all consoles and PC imho Otherwise, make the game, focus on making it good, and if it sells, make a sequel with netcode if you ask me I mean, even now, I check the Streets of Rage 4 on the Switch and there are just no one hosting online Not that I care because supposedly I've clocked 95 hours into it (WITH MY FRIENDS; I've yet to beat it solo Only done some survival) brbrSo why spend time on it?

Great list and I definitely need to check out a few of these Let me mention River City Girls 1&2 as another pair of great beat-em-ups that are hilarious and are set in the world of the Kunio-kun (River City Ransom in US) and Double Dragon Great writing and characters from Wayforward and Arc Systems
