If anyone has a better solution, that would be great So we have this narrow room which we use as an office and a mini bar So the minibar is built in and we have the desk next to it The wall behind is glass I guess I have to choose between having the window wall or the entrance behind my back Comment from : @hungryasianmermaid |
My bedroom floor olan is really similar to this I have a twin bed and a desk and am looking for a shelf to fit it all in This is really helpful Comment from : @yayahicks3829 |
Anyone knows feng shui, is putting an office desk in your bedroom good? Comment from : @khanhnganvu4390 |
1:28 but the desk for one person can be placed between the windows and its protection from the open windows if one sits on the desk how he suggested, they can assasinate you from your desk profile and you’ll never see it coming Comment from : @garretreed9709 |
Now I know! Comment from : @KironKabir |
What about a studio with a desk and a Easel? Comment from : @maryjahns7803 |
Thanks for this video! I know I am late to this video but can you please give us suggestion fiir when it's not possible to not face a wall? The setuo of the room combined to the cords and computer equipment makes it really hard to be in a 'command' position Or if anyone has any bit of knowledge and would know of to soften the situation? Thank you! Comment from : @amandabricot |
"Which makes you look nice in a zoom call"brYeahbrRightbrYou wishbr(Or rather me)br😬 Comment from : @FrogeniusWG |

I have corner desk… so my back is against the door but I’m facing near a window (it’s to the side of me, not directly in front of the desk) I just lock the door to my room 🤷🏼♀️ Comment from : @Allaiya |
I have my office in command position but can you do a video on how to manage the cables Thank you Comment from : @joselinerod8749 |
how do you do cable mangement with Feng Shui though Comment from : @breezyflow1 |
That was awesome @Ukasz’s point about cable management is extremely valid, though Comment from : @ZachPetch |

Thank you so much I have a new desk coming and this really helped me figure it out I'm a sci-fi writer so my office is also home to my collection of memorabilia because it invigorates my creativity but Im also near a very busy and noisy street I'm finding the best thing to do is clear my room and just sit in the room and let the energy give me the best space Comment from : @heatherwarner865 |
All good until someone trips on the electrical cords Comment from : @chardibinx |
Can you please do examples of rooms with a desk and a bed? Thank you!! Comment from : @TheMargearet |
3:00 If you have a lot of eqipment and still want to float your desk like that, you can do it by using a cabinet as a half wall Your desk and equipment is protected behind the cabinet, but you can keep easy watch on the traffic Comment from : @patrickkeller2193 |
Thank you Comment from : @demiaubi2580 |
I love love your videos My hubs and I were looking at houses today and the house we love has a master bedroom with the perfect little nook for the bed Nice and protected 😊 If we end up getting the house, I'm totally sending you a video 🤣🤣🤣 Comment from : @DogsEyeViewTraining |
It's cool that without ever knowing these points of feng shui i have my desk in the optimal position You really do have to feel it out in the space u have Comment from : @Javierm0n0 |
Right, so the ugly back of the desk is on show plus all the cables for the computer are just hanging out there 😅 Comment from : @travelwell6049 |
What about an office that is also a bedroom? Comment from : @madsolea |
I'd had watched your videos on youtube and re-arranged my room I had not seen anything about desk but I ended up doing something similar with my desk There is a window to my side but not right behind me and the doors are in front of me Very great vibe Comment from : @SudoYETI |
I don't agree with being closer to the window for energy, if you are closer to a window you are more likely to be sniped by an FBI agent in which case you would lose the capacity to absorb the energy Comment from : @lastwayyoutube |

I did it! My husband and I share an office in our home and it has limited options since there is a huge double door, two windows, and a closet To make the most space, we had our desks against walls and in corners with our backs to the door which leads straight to the front door After seeing your videos and talking to him about it, we moved our desks facing each other, side under a window on the wall, and so now we both have mostly walls behind us We both have a clear view of the office and front doors when we look to the side It feels not only much safer, but much cozier and makes us feel more connected because even though we still cant see each other because of our monitors, we aren't with our backs to each other anymore It truly does feel like a more focused office space for me as well I wasn't sure I believed in the magic of Feng Shui, but now I am a believer Comment from : @adorfaru |
Loved all the examples You’re great at explaining the theories Comment from : @rickyquanjr8923 |

Bro, I feel the EXACT same way! I hate having my back facing the door Comment from : @thaintriguing1 |

In regards to "desk with computer equipment":brbrIf your desk has a computer it should sit perpendicular to any windows Having a window behind or in front makes it really hard to see when there's sunlight Also, to consider when buying, desks should be a lot shorter than tables Adjustable desk height is preferred Monitors should be mounted to the desk instead of a wall if possible, allowing to shift height with the deskbrbrOn the topic of ergonomics, I don't know who thought trays or drawers are a good idea to have on top of your knees, it's just not comfortable If you have a tower computer, plan to have it on the right unless you buy an upside down case, so you face the window of the case If you can, keeping it off the floor helps reduce lint buildupbrbrHaving a power strip on top can be quite useful depending on what you do on your desk, in my case I put chargers (don't really have spares, they can get quite pricey), and occasionally I might plug a soldering iron, a glue gun, a laminator, another computer to troubleshoot, network equipment, I even experimented with a raspberry pi All permanent stuff gets plugged in a power strip screwed below, such as the computer, monitors, lights, speakers and the other power stripbrbrIf you have a monitor with a power adapter, use velcro and hot glue This way if you want to move the monitor you can do so quickly, as well as putting it back on its place If you have a microphone with an arm, zip ties keep it tidy, extend the arm as much as possible before putting thembrbrLastly, I'm looking forward to do this, but a monitor shelf seems like a good place to put away your mouse and keyboard when you need desk space Comment from : @Gabifuertes |
Sure, putting your desk smack in the middle of the room sounds nice I guess, but I need an outlet Comment from : @Certifier |

I don't have a good command position for my desks unfortunately :( maybe I'll stick a mirror to see the door haha, I just did a office space makeover (video on my channel for any curious ones) and it's 25sq ft and it's not optimized for Feng shui but it works best in my space But I do have a lot of good sunlight! :D Comment from : @GadgetsGearCoffee |

The waffle house has found its new host Comment from : @ilchickentv340 |

I appreciate your advice in a lot of these videos, but I think sometimes you assume that we all use Macbooks and drink Iced Groggachinos No shade to those people(!), but the command position is a bit of a moot point when you're using a 40" screen and a desktop computer :PbrbrAlso, as others have mentioned, cable managementbrThe rest of your advice is sound though Comment from : @SilverSpade92 |

Some rooms are too small to have the desk away from a wall Comment from : @Schwabian |

Hi Clif! What do you do if the right wall of your bedroom is a mirror that cannot be removed and the back wall has a windowbrbrIs the energy coming from the window too much if you put the bed head up against it?br The mirror wall reflects everything including your bed in every configuration, is there any way to combat that? Comment from : @SFoX |

I used to have an Aquarium in my office (I also used to have an office at home—we moved) I wonder about things like plants, and living things, even pet areas Do they matter only a little or a lot? My desk was facing double doors, side were a whole wall set of windows, and the top left corner from the doors had the fish tank My books were behind me, next to the tankbrbrif we associate an item with a category, does it influence Feng Shui with its placement as well? Like my bookshelves, books could be representative of creativity and knowledge Does it work like that?brbrI don't know if you're planning on covering those, but that would be interesting if you do I'm curious Comment from : @IwannatrywithKat |
4th note you're desk shouldn't be 20 of the rooms space Comment from : @wittyjoker4631 |

Cliff, what happens if you have a long standing desk and windows on the two sides of the room farthest from the door? Comment from : @akstrad |
Upside down on the ceiling, that’s were all my furniture is The people firing at you from outside miss and you can see everything going on on the ground The good energy can flow under the furniture and no shadow is cast Comment from : @Tapman99 |
The world is a pretty bad place when you view videos similar to this on how to place a desk in a room, somebody below is asking how to place a bookshelf People cannot think for themselves anymore, how many videos out there claim you are doing things wrong and must watch It is a sad state of affairs, I clicked on this to see if the title actually said what it meant and yes it blew me away Comment from : @wolfywolfhowl |
I would put my desk in a commanding position But with my WALL OF SCREENS, I wouldn't be able to see anything anyway So facing the wall, sideways to the light and entrance it isbrAnd this way the people entering the room don't have to lay siege on my wall of screens every-time they want to see my face Comment from : @pmp1337 |
The 2nd room is shaped just as my apartment is for the main living space Feels great to have my position of my desk validated :D Comment from : @Beckasin |
My fiancee and I have a small apartment and we both have desks situated in the living room area against opposite walls We've tried every way to reposition our furniture (sectional couch, TV stand, two desks, and a lamp) There's no way to avoid facing the walls, unfortunately And there's no way to fit both of our desks against the same wall without getting a smaller couch or TV stand I've been trying to solve this problem for months now and I still have no solution The room has plenty of space in the center, but our furniture is simply too large to Feng Shui in this apartment Comment from : @as_below_so_above |
I just moved my desk from the spare corner of my lounge to a more "command" position and its made so much difference! Yoy are a wizard Cliff, thank you 💜 Comment from : @Alice_Walker |

The problem is cable managment It is much easier to hide cables when desk is placed in front of the wall L shaped desk might be a good solution, but still it's a challenge Comment from : @IILukaszII |

In your description, which possession is supposedly being referred to when you say "[T]his video's talks about basic Feng Shui rules"? This video's iwhat/i talks about the basic Feng Shui rules? Comment from : @HelloKittyFanMan |

Very nice! I was born and have lived in the USA for all my life and have been trying to practice this ever since my late teens and early 20s, before I even knew what it was called! For me the thoughts were always about lowering the chance of startle as much as possible Same with bedroom and living/family room arrangement I love it! Comment from : @HelloKittyFanMan |

I have had to place my desk against the wall and I never use it! I think maybe it would be better if I could sit with the wall to my back I haven't come up with a way to pull that off yet because of space, but maybe some day Comment from : @instant_mint |
All fine and dandy, but how do you manage cables and make them invisible if desk is away from wall??? Comment from : @santropixie5140 |

HI Clif ! Can you create a video on bookshelf placement in offices? Especially with open bookshelves Thank you! Love your content <3 Comment from : @jessicachandra |
My desk is aligned with my door, and it's in front of a window (which I like because of the light) but I've noticed that I get soooo distracted because I can see everything coming and going by the door out of the corner of my eye And I like to keep the door open And since the room is somewhat small, that only leaves me to Just closing the damned door 😆 Comment from : @brandingbymarieb635 |
I love how you consider snipers lol Comment from : @theruzeljames |
