Does anyone know with testing if LHR effects gaming results? Idc about mining I just want to game but don't want to spend 1k on a LHR if it's gonna effect gaming performance

im NOT doing it! but i was curious so i used a nice hash calculator on a 2060 super, according to that 2060 will make £3 per day, tried it with my 3070TI LHR version it will make £2 per day the 2060 wins by £1 its not got LHR it was bought long before the gpu crysis

I am not a miner but when I see something like "LHR" crypto currency mining limiters on a product that is the SAME PRICE as a non "LHR" card, it honestly kind of pisses me off I don't plan to mine on my 3080 or 3080ti when I get one, but the fact that i'm paying the SAME amount for either of the cards is utter bullshit I could understand if NVIDIA would slash $100, maybe $200 off of the LHR card because of the mining restrictions, that would make it a fair price in my opinion Instead I am paying the same price for something that may or may not limit my future options I game heavily in between my college classes, and like I said I don't plan to mine but what if I wanted to make back some of the cost? EVGA has so far not listed cards as LHR I have two 3060 cards purchased a month apart First from Best buy, normal nerf Second came directly from EVGA, same box same sku however the BIOS version and device is updated and the card is in fact LHR

I am casually mining with my 6800XT Hell i paid $1069 (Asus Tuf msrp) for something which would have sold between $499 and $599 at launch 5 years ago (nvidia 1080 was 599 at launch and seeing that we can put the 6800XT a little below nvidia 80-class gpu) The price creep is real and as such i will absorb this price creep thru casual mining I'd get an LHR vesion of a card if it was priced using pre-creep price structure, but if i am to pay above 800 for an 80-class gpu, i want to be able to recoup a bit of my expense by mining when not gaming But obviously, LHR cards are gonna be priced like their non-LHR counterparts so that's a ripoff to me

I appreciate the effort by NVIDIA (even though I recognize they are morally questionable most of the time) The crypto-mining phenomenon has really taken a bite out of what should be gaming GPUs The problem with crypto-mining is two-fold First, they try to get as many GPUs as they can so they can increase their profit, while gamers really only need one GPU to play their favorite games at higher frame rates Second, because crypto-mining is a business for the miners, they are willing to pay higher prices and go to further extremes to get the cards (bots, etc) I feel like this disproportionately takes a bad situation (global supply chain problems) and makes it exponentially worse I'm not confident this will solve the supply problem, but I'm a little hopeful it will
