My biggest practical tip is to outsource subjects that are hard for / scare you for instance when I finally signed up for yellow spot sun and squilt , music and art finally became a consistent part of our homeschool My kids are happy to enjoy those subjects and the pressure to teach in areas I'm not skilled is taken off me

Yes to everything!!! 5th year homeschooling here!! I also tell new homeschoolers remember no matter the school no child will learn everything I feel like new homeschool parents overwhelm themselves with what they think public schools are doing and having worked there I can tell you they aren’t doing as much as you think they are brbrI also agree about taking breaks If your child is having a hard time powering through will not lead to any kind of retention We go outside or draw or I let the kids choose something they want to learn about

I think this year I need to work on that afternoon rejuvenation for me Between solo parenting, homeschooling, and teaching on Outschool almost full time, I ran myself ragged last year Seriously ragged I think a mid afternoon break is critical, just like you said Now my wheels are turning!

This is only my first year homeschooling but my practical tip that i have learned is to make sure you and your children get enough rest to have a good schoolday the next day
