RAMplus is actually the swap space Regardless of whether you turn on the RAMplus function or not, the OneUI system has already preset 3GB of swap space When you turn on RAMplus and set the size, the size of the swap space will follow your setting, but when you turn off RAMplus, the size of the swap space will return to 3GB So regardless of whether you turn on RAMplus or not, it is actually always on, and you only have the privilege to set the size Comment from : @AloneInTheYard

Realistically it is a page file / swap file for phones Back in the day this was not great on PC because of how ridiculously slow mechanical HDD's were Today, with high speed SSD's page/swap file usage does not really hinder the performance of up front programs or things going on in the background Unless all of your app are running background refreshes to keep notifications up to date Comment from : @methodatx01

the big mistake here is that as soon as you start changing settings to limit background processes, you will stop getting notifications for gmail and messenger and such, they all need to be able to run in the background in order to notify you, so i highly recommend not messing with these settings as you will not benefit from it in any noticeable way Comment from : @alexpigeon

I don't like to comment usually because people are rude But I read so many comments here with theories about how they are right and you are wrong My fold5 has always had choppy animations and scrolling has never been smooth as I feel like it should I turned this setting off and my phone required a restart in order to take affect I immediately had faster and smoother scrolling and animations I'm no tech expert but I know my phone and can 100 confirm that I have seen an improvement by turning this setting off If I start seeing anything not working as it sgould, it's easy to turn it back on But for now, it has improved So, thank you for this information I won't be doing it on my S24U because it's lightning fast and buttery smooth already But I will try it on my S21U Thanks again I'd suggest to all the know it alls to try for yourself before you bash this guy with your unproven theories Factory defaults aren't always best If they were, there wouldn't be settings to change Comment from : @Bearded_Hillbilly

Edit: It's back after changing messages soundUGH and getting a messagebrThank you for this My new 23FE after finally getting the alerts to sound started dinging every 1 minute or so It would stop and start with a new message I tried several other "fixes" but this one seems to have stopped my problem br I finally HAD to replace my S6 Active after a great run The process was worse than buying a new car ATT experience was painful, very painful The fraud dept at ATT is a stupid PIA with their questions They failed me the first time for reasons unknown 4 of us in 2 different ATT stores due to one not having any phones for the first hour and at the second for another 2 was ridiculous 3 hours to get 4 phones br And why is it so hard to get these new phones to do what should be the simplest tasks done?
