I really dont understand how you are able to make profit At 2100 MH/s for litecoin, the cost of your wattage would COST you 50$ a month Please explain to me because either I dont understand, or you dont pay 10& /kwatt

Oh, and also, I always hear people talking about usimg a Sempron 145, but I did hear of this bottlenecking performance a bit on someones rig Would you know a better dual core option for under $75 or so? Or even a bit more, if necessary Thanks a lot! Also What is the most economical gpu right now, compared to purchase price, power consumption and hash rate? very nice but seeing that you have plenty of space available, perhaps you could have left more space between each GPU to allow for better cooling personally I have noticed this increases GPU stability but if it works fine do not change anything :-)

I get about 2 litecoins per day with this setup The reality is, you need GPUs to mine scrypt coins With Bitcoin and other SHA256 coins you can go with asic hardware, but there is no such option for Litecoin, etc You profitability will depend on a number of factors, including your hashrate, initial investment and the type of coin you mine Check out profit calculator at dustcoincom and plug in your numbers

Sorry, I removed a comment by mistake The question was: "Does a system really need this much RAM for Litecoin mining?" The answer is: I went with a general recommendation to provide an scrypt mining system with plenty of RAM That being said, I personally have not done any sort of testing to determine the practical minimum limit of RAM required If anyone has done such a testing, I'd interested in hearing the results

If things stay the same And they never do ;) Forecasting profitability in such a volatile market is a gamble Yes, there are profit calculators and dustcoincom, which are all fine sources of information and need to be taken into account However, you can mine many different coins and some of them could be very profitable when they appear on the market Some of them go bust pretty quick Bitcoin could go to $500 or $20 Try to factor that into a calculation!

Your initial question was power consumption/coin ratio and I believe I've answered that You could lease mining hardware and avoid upfront costs In general, though, I agree, mining is far from a get-rich-quick scheme :) I expect that any major profits I realize will be from potential long term appreciation of crypto-currency After all, that's how bitcoin millionaires came to exist
