I really dont understand how you are able to make profit At 2100 MH/s for litecoin, the cost of your wattage would COST you 50$ a month Please explain to me because either I dont understand, or you dont pay 10& /kwatt Comment from : brobeobro |
How Many litecoins can you make with 1mhz in a month? Comment from : S K |
What cables are you using there to connect the GPU's to the board? I did not even know they had those lol Comment from : Harry44 |
Oh, and also, I always hear people talking about usimg a Sempron 145, but I did hear of this bottlenecking performance a bit on someones rig Would you know a better dual core option for under $75 or so? Or even a bit more, if necessary Thanks a lot! Also What is the most economical gpu right now, compared to purchase price, power consumption and hash rate? I cant seem to get good info and I figured the best source would be an experienced miner with a powerful rig! Thanks, ans sorry for the noob questions!! Comment from : XtremeConditions |
I can get one from butterfly labs for 275USD that can achieve 5GH/s, this setup may or may not be overpriced or outdated but its nice brbr productsbutterflylabscom/homepage/5-gh-s-bitcoin-minerhtml Comment from : QuadroNVS |

Hello MaxbrIt's me again, now when i graduated vocational school i got a bit more time for litecoining I've come up with a better build,br4x AMD radeon R9 280x graphic cards, powered by 2x 750W Corsair Power Supply's brGive me feedback what to you think about that kind of build Thanks Comment from : Mernaya |
very nice but seeing that you have plenty of space available, perhaps you could have left more space between each GPU to allow for better cooling personally I have noticed this increases GPU stability but if it works fine do not change anything :-) Comment from : BPap |
i have 4 cards and I can only run 3 in order to run under 1100 watts Comment from : Luis Miguel Rodriguez |
what is the script that you are using to run this rig, i have the exact same rig built on your inputs but is draining too much power from the wall over 1200 watts and and shutsdown the system I have the same video cards Comment from : Luis Miguel Rodriguez |
build list please? Comment from : Miner Mhowardzz |
What do you think, Would a M5A78L_LE work with 2x AMD 7950 SAPPHIRE?brThis Motherboard only has 1 pcie16x and 2 pcie 1xbrI want to get it working plugging in 1 card directly in the 16x and plugging the other card into a riser 1x to 16x riser, would it work? Comment from : Bart van Wensveen |
What kind of temps are you seeing on the cards? What is your fan speed set at? Comment from : Cesar C |
hi whats ur hash rate with these 4 cards? and many watts electricity consuming? Comment from : Shahzada1prince |
Can you tell me why you need 8GB of RAM, instead of, say, 4GB RAM? What does the rig specifically do with the ram? Comment from : Kimberly |
VERY NICE RIG!!!brHave you measured the consumption on the plug when fully mining? Comment from : Bill Geo |
i ordered a r9 290, and next month i want to buy another one, so my question isdo i have some kh/s loss when both cards just run in 8x mode? my GA 990XA UD3 has just 1x 16x, 1x 8x, & 1x 4xanddo i have to link em up via crossfire or do they run seperately? Comment from : Intravenous Gaming |
For your PSU, how many watts do you need per card? I'm assuming mobo and other components use minimal power compared to the GPUs Comment from : DemonVTEC |
Hi Max, I am looking into adding a single amd 7950 and running my pc as long as possible and mining Litecoin At this stage of the game, would you think it would be profitable(I was hoping for something in the region of £1,500 profit in the year)? Comment from : Shat Bad |
thanks max! although I would suggest that you put the complete computer specs in the description box so that people wouldn't have to ask you the same question over and over again Comment from : latem777 |
Do you really need lots of system ram for litecoins? I thought the GPU ram for litecoin was important and the system ram doesn't matter Please confirm How much ram is being used on your computer (taskmanager)? Comment from : Oshirowanen |
thanks dude, i'm looking into building one, using 3x 7870's and a Linux OS, mostly i just like building computers, gonna put everything in a couple of plastic milk cases, by the way, what are your thoughts on running ribbon cables from the PCIe x1 slot to a x16 header and running power from the power supply directly to the GPU?? Comment from : Gordon Steeves |
Hello Max Skybin, first of all i wanted to say good job on your magnificent work You are also good teached and thank you for doing such hard work brI have question about power supply You said that you have a 1200W power supply but on the ramedon 7950 specs u can see that its reccomended 650W (correct me if im wrong) of power Now i see you got there 4 GPU's and a power supply which can feed theoratically only 2 GPU's Can you be so kind and explain it to me, why not a stronger power supply is used? brSorry about my grammatics, not born in US :) Comment from : Mernaya |
Nice rig There is a lot of talk about WorldCoin (WDC) atm Have you or do you mine WorldCoin? Comment from : Peter Watson |
Hallo! You have a nice Rig going on there!brI have a couple questions to you, since you seem pretty experiencedbr1 I cant find the details on you website :(br2 Kann i run a rig like you with a crappy card and a crappy CPU without loosing much mining speed? Let's say i only use a 2,2 GHz dual core Will that work? Comment from : Valansch |
how many pci-e power cable do u need to power all 4 Comment from : zattu7 |
Hi Max, first of allnice video! :) I have a few questions about powersupply's Is the powersupply that you are using fit to run with an Asrock 970 extreme 4 motherboard? And is a Corsair X-1200 a good alternative? I'm about to start mining litecoins with two Sapphire 7950 GPU's Good powersupply's are hard to come by these days thanks in advance for your help! :) Comment from : Kim K |
Is there any reason why you haven't gone to SSD Hard Drive, or Flash Drive for OS? I would feel that would depreciate the power usage Not by much, but it would help Comment from : Adam |
hi max, were you able to boot the rig for the first time with the hdmi cable? also what vid card does the monitor have to plug into? Comment from : S Semo |
hi max, i have a question i have 4 sapphire r290's , do i need powered riser cables? or could i just use non powered risers? ive asked people online and they say i need powered cables i dont understand why would i need powered risers if the power supply it already connected to all the video cards? any info would be appreciated Comment from : CC |
Hey Max, could you make a video of how to build that rig (the wood and everything) and stuff? because I would really like to have one looking like that Thx Comment from : Construcker |
Great info, thanks Do you still think it is worthwhile mining Litecoin over the next 6 months assuming the price stays around$30? How many coins does this exact rig mine per day? Comment from : Path To Peak Health |
Max, do you know how long delivering time there is for these parts to Northern Europe? Comment from : Construcker |
What did you do to not use dummy plugs Comment from : V G |
Hi Max Skybin, me again, what was the motherboard that you have also? Comment from : and others and others and others |
I get with my HD 7970 600kh/s And you get with 4x 7950 2000000Kh/s? PLS answer Comment from : NiAtGeo |
Nice How do you boot without a powerbutton? Are the powerbutton pins on the board just shorted? Comment from : frankdahlin |
i run cgminer on my laptop but the cgminer cant ick up the rig? do i have to link any cables from the rig to the laptop anthing like that? Comment from : lite coin |
@natodemon1, not sure why, but youtube doesn't allow me to directly reply to your comment I think at this point (with the increase of LTC value) the rig has paid for itself It's mostly gravy now :) I have been mining a mix of crypto-coins, trying to maximize the profits Comment from : Max Skybin |
Will windows be able to handle 5 cards without problems? Comment from : Anders202 |
how many ks/s are those 4 put out, and how many ltc coins do you get per day? Comment from : silverpanda34 |
hi, do i need to have a wireless card? to build the rig? Comment from : silverpanda34 |
I can see that you've had a few questions like this already but, I can see that this video was posted a few months ago, are you still mining litecoin? also have you made any profit on this rig, or still paying back what it cost Thanks for any answers in advance and good luck mining! Comment from : natodemon1 |
can i pu 2 Sapphire Radeon HD 7990 on any mother board? Comment from : silverpanda34 |
Hi nice video Do you have any idea how much a rig would cost me if i wanted to make $20 a day on litecoin or novacoins? How many cards would that require? thanks Comment from : Desi - D51 |
We recently added Claim-Jumper Technology to automatically mine the most profitable coin using statistics from Coin Choose dot com Comment from : RockyMountainMiners |
I get about 2 litecoins per day with this setup The reality is, you need GPUs to mine scrypt coins With Bitcoin and other SHA256 coins you can go with asic hardware, but there is no such option for Litecoin, etc You profitability will depend on a number of factors, including your hashrate, initial investment and the type of coin you mine Check out profit calculator at dustcoincom and plug in your numbers Comment from : Max Skybin |
Hello! I'm thinking of building a mining rig to mine Litecoin, Dustcoin, etc Is it profitable of mining any crypto currency? With your current mining rig, about how much Lite Coins do you get per day? I want to get into this to see how it works and start on my adventure towards it while at the same time making some profit or break even Comment from : ReincarnationCharism |
Thanks! Comment from : lucky88shp |
Dustcoin dot com is the one I go to most often I use cgminer for mining By the way, you can find all details on my blog (link in the video description) ;) Comment from : Max Skybin |
Sorry, I removed a comment by mistake The question was: "Does a system really need this much RAM for Litecoin mining?" The answer is: I went with a general recommendation to provide an scrypt mining system with plenty of RAM That being said, I personally have not done any sort of testing to determine the practical minimum limit of RAM required If anyone has done such a testing, I'd interested in hearing the results Comment from : Max Skybin |
Sweet The PSU and the GPUs are the biggest expense in the whole setup If you can save on those, you'll have higher overall profitability Comment from : Max Skybin |
Nice rig, bro! Comment from : RockyMountainMiners |
Please use the link in the video description There is a detailed bill of materials on my site with all the hardware components and their prices You should also be on the lookout for bargains There are often promotions and deals available Comment from : Max Skybin |
Thanks, Herman! The case is custom built Started really small - just a bunch of components sitting on a piece of wood Next step was to build aluminium frame and finally secure all components to the frame and add cable management Took a few weekends of intermittent work Comment from : Max Skybin |
That's about right At current prices See discussion below Comment from : Max Skybin |
uh, $7 a day? Comment from : Helios |
Thanks Shyte I like it too :) The number of litecoins per day depends on difficulty It started with about 4 a couple of months ago, and dropped to 2 now I am thinking of switching to Feathercoin or some other alternative coin for better profitability Comment from : Max Skybin |
nice rig how many litecoins do you make daily Comment from : Shyte Poms |
If things stay the same And they never do ;) Forecasting profitability in such a volatile market is a gamble Yes, there are profit calculators and dustcoincom, which are all fine sources of information and need to be taken into account However, you can mine many different coins and some of them could be very profitable when they appear on the market Some of them go bust pretty quick Bitcoin could go to $500 or $20 Try to factor that into a calculation! Comment from : Max Skybin |
So ROI is a year and half unless ltc goes to 8$ :) Comment from : SkyzaLimitProduction |
24 MH/s for lite and 24 GH/s for bit???
r u sure? these values should be 1k times lower Comment from : andr27 |
Your initial question was power consumption/coin ratio and I believe I've answered that You could lease mining hardware and avoid upfront costs In general, though, I agree, mining is far from a get-rich-quick scheme :) I expect that any major profits I realize will be from potential long term appreciation of crypto-currency After all, that's how bitcoin millionaires came to exist Comment from : Max Skybin |
How do you make money based on power consumption / coin ratio? So far I have yet to find a way to make it work out Comment from : Cody |
