When do you think Starship will launch in 2022? - Shout out to CuriosityStream for supporting this vid! Check out curiositystreamcom/PrimalSpace Comment from : Primal Space |

Goddamn watching those old starship videos makes clear how rapid the progress is with that rocket Comment from : Micha Grill |
2:34 the version of the n1s that flew had engines that used pyrotechnics to ignite so they physically couldn't fire the booster or even test individual engines prior to launch Comment from : SpaceMan225 |

Every time I hear the conversation about colonizing Mars I ask my self if we are willing to survive only by what we need, why don’t we have that same mentality on earth? brThis is aside from “colonizing” brI’m talking about the ones who suggest on leaving earth for a “better” life Comment from : Termi_888 |

You are a prophet 😮 spacex please learn Comment from : Varun Muthukumar |

Watching this video a year after publishing is telling Blows my mind that they knew the possible issues but decided to risk it Makes me wonder if we would already be talking about the next planned launch date had the pad infrastructure been better Comment from : josh g |
I'm more concerned about the Launch Pad itself Comment from : wxb200 |

Your predictions were accurate!!!! Comment from : Joseph Mwenjeri |

It has 33 engines but okay Comment from : LeM0 |
Simple for is to dig deep beneath the base of the stand And deep Dow put flame divert or and water so the flames don’t heat up the engines them self Comment from : Fahad Ali |
Cheap American propaganda downplaying Russian technology quoting some failed rockets Even NASA used the most successful rocket system history, Soyuz which completed 1700 flights to space, while seven of the 33 raptor engines failed during the recent launch Russian technology is simple, powerful and reliable Anyway American fireworks are more spectacular though Comment from : Sha Sha |
Is there an engineering reason why SpaceX doesn't have flame / debris diverter?brIt seems to be much simpler to just build one on the launchpad (which is on the ground than hoping no debris will travel back and damage the engines or rocket structurebrI found this video way too late, after the first launch of starship and could see a lot of problems (debris flying here and there uncontrolled) in the first 15 seconds itself which could easily have been prevented Comment from : Nyx Awesome |
Actually it is a very poor design and put together this super heavy rocket The more engines the greater problems Should design a bigger engine and put just 3 engines or max 4 engines but not so many small engine I think they are lazy to redesign from scratch and make super heavy engine for this rocket Comment from : Hop Lam |
엔진 숫자를 줄여야 됨 추력은 올리면서 Comment from : 왕오빠 |
I cannot believe it managed to go so far with 5 engines out Incredible work So much data gathered now Guess theyll be looking to why the stages didn't separate and how the Raptor engines can all reliably ignite and sustain good thrust Should good for another launch hopefully soon! Comment from : Will Graham |
Oh come on rockets are 1940 / 50s technology, boring We know that Anti-gravity systems have been developed Come Elon Musk you know this Comment from : Barrie Grey |
last time a Rocket with 30 Engines was launched was in 1974, the last attempt to launch the Russian N1 Moon Rocket It just about made it so the End of the First Stage's Lifetime, when it, like the 3 prior, blew up Too bad, I would have liked to see the Russians get to the Moon Comment from : pjimmbo jimmbo |
31* Comment from : Ishan Mohile |
They did it! 31 Engine successful static fire!!! Comment from : Harshil FTW |
If it takes 14 tons of fuel to light the engines for 3 seconds, divide 14 by three and you need 46 tons for 1 second and for a minute? 280 Tons Comment from : Jennifer Guenter |
“The reason it has so many engines is because if 1 engine fail it can still work”brSea dragon rocket: oh well, never mind 😳 Comment from : Win Win |
The 28 or so engines on this remind me of the failed Russian moon ricket the N2! All of them failed! Mmmmm Comment from : Da R |

29 rocket engines Ok this is really interesting if it gets off ground Las Vegas needs to make odds on thismore than likely will blow up pad More than likely it will be a year or more If ever it gets off ground Comment from : David Breihan |

what did Elon do to compensate for the CO2 emissions from rockets Comment from : Qwertyu |
The capital cost involved in these experiments are really exorbitant and the results out of which are pretty not exemplary Just look at those wooping price tags for each rockets Not even dare to equate with NASA's budget If US tax payers let them much similar capital to NASA, they would have brought up many magics out of thin air As they have shown in the past Since Elon Musk sitting on a couple of hundred Bn$ fortune,he could spend as like he want But quantity and efficiency will not go at parbrEspecially in terms of cost effectivenessthis man is not even in the orbit brbrIf one tenth or one twentieth portion is awarded to ISRO they would also produce magnificent results That's efficiencythis is wasting capitalbr#NASA#ISRO Comment from : Basil K P |
Elon Musk: lets put 30 engine on this:brafter construction is finishedbralso Elon Musk: nah never mind there isn't space for the 30th one Comment from : DEVESHCreative |

The biggest problem with human space flight is the fact that the radiation makes astronauts infertile The way around is to user artificial insemination to create offspring brAs DNA gets damaged the males become impotent and unable to ejaculate This is nature’s way of not letting damaged DNA re-procreatebrWe send the brightest people up there and make them infertile! We want to send tourist into space, but we have to do it save! No insurance company will insure an operator that brings back impotent males and infertile females brVery few people actually will go into space when the main side effect is impotence! What kind of mastering physics this rocket and the pad technology might it be if even sound waves are so strong to be tamed by water 💦 ? I have the feeling that it’s some kind of - hard to describe - aggregation of mastering of mathematics and physics times aspiration to be outstanding and keeping it as “simple” and modular as it could be , which in itself is I believe very very very hard to achieve at SpaceX But I won’t forget Tesla (and the other Companies involved, too many to mention) thanks 🙏 for sharing the knowledge I always happy to see what’s achieved next in a hopefully healthy way for all who are involved I really would like to see Sandy Munro deconstruct a Raptor Engine 😁 , but don’t tell the secret’s I really would like to know what his overall opinion would be in just 8 minute long sums up 🙏☮️ Best wishes and Grüße aus Frankfurt am Main Comment from : Sa5cha |

They like to say the massive number of engines is redundancy, but the truth is,they couldn't build an engine as good as the Mighty F1! They couldn't even reverse engineer one from a pristine unflown F1! Comment from : tom cline |
