The funny thing is slaves in one way or another were, and still are necessary throughout our entire civilization history, the only thing that changes is the form of slavery and making the slaves more removed from our lives with each passing century - well let's say the US was a bit of anomaly but by now for us in the Western world to live the way we do, we still need the other half of the world to live in poverty so that products we use can cost us next to nothing A pair of pretty fancy brand name sport shoes costs a westener like half or a 1/3 of daily wage while people making them in India earn this much over the entire month If we were to make these shoes domestically, to pay our local wages, these shoes would suddenly become unaffordable, decreasing our life quality
