I got in the market in 2021 and listened to the YouTubers Thinking I was making a wise investments I convinced my family to invest too We’re now down $200k, 95 They all got richer while retail got poorer brbrI’m now the loser who lost their families life savings My family worked for a decade to save that much money I feel like I was tricked Brainwashed into thinking I was making good decisions brbrThe stock Market is a game for the rich to take retail investors money It’s like you playing basketball against Lebron James You won’t win brbrThey pretend to teach people how to invest They hold no responsibility for their advice They’re scammers I learned that the hard way

I wish this video existed before I bought into the Metaverse hype I bought all the stocks related to the metaverse right before they crashed and even FB shelved the project My only luck is that Nvidia has risen again because of the recent AI hype brAnd after years of watching the Tesla hype on CNBC, I decided to finally dip my toes into it, only for Tesla to post disappointing sales due to the EV market cooldown, and the stock crashed Talk of bad timing

Instead of listening to these financial gurus, I've decided to put money in dividend stocks Instead of doing the dividend capture strategy, per say I hold on to that stock until they either go up, or for a maximum of a week The results have been mixed

Investing in stocks should be always long-term, that is for a period of more than 2 years and pandemic period which was highly disruptive for most industries should not really be a reference period for conclusions

Reasons I never listened, meet Kevin was all fidgety and giggling at himself, I thought he was a druggy Jeremy couldn’t even spell and his presentations were so elementary and info would just be flat out wrong Andrei Jik I just thought his jokes were corny, graham Stephen is 5’1 and I don’t listen to dwarfs Stock moe only talked about nio so no need to listen Chris sain said whaaaasuuuup youtuuube and I thought it was a troll channel but after a few videos I realized he was being serious It’s a real clown show on YouTube

Catching this video, kind of late, but criticizing Youtubers for guessing wrong right before bear market hit all stocks is kind of silly This video aired in the middle of the bear market Things like PayPal and Shopify in five years are probably gonna be skyrocketing With most companies, especially if they’re still profitable, Like PayPal for example, even though they’re down It’s just a choice of timescale to make a point I am not saying you should listen to YouTubers for stock picks I’m saying this is a little unfair, considering that most of these guesses were not expecting a huge gains in a bear market Bear markets usually mean things will be down as a whole, but once the bear markets over the same things might skyrocket I’d be willing to bet if you went back and looked at the same stocks, three years down the road, the story might be entirely different
