Today's frigates have the size of destroyers Meaning of frigates and destroyers don't matter anymore Earlier these used to have specific role and lack other roles but today both of these types can do all roles Today's frigates are multirole So instead saying 8000 ship a frigate and another 7500 ton ship as destroyer, we can just say 'warships' otherwise will have to make clear distinction that a ship over 5000 ton is a destroyer

A frigate? 8000 tons? The Chinese Navy's 052D and the US Navy's Arleigh Burke 2 have a displacement of 8000 tons,, and its comprehensive strength is significantly higher than these 11 ships

calling a 8200 ton warship as frigate is a joke shame to the British also, Russian frigates may be overrated as a ship having powerful anti-ship weapon is simply a moving fort, but is sinkable from distance if it does not have outstanding air defense

A Russian frigate at number one? I don't think so It's just unreliable and poorly built junk The Type 26 is probably the best frigate at the moment (and the most expensive) but leave out the Russian trash
