Pretty late comment, but the point of playing the game for all 3 endings really gives you the complete experience brbrFor my first playthrough, I felt like it was around an 8/10, but doing the extra content in subsequent playthroughs while trying a new mech in each really bumped it to a 9

I just beat it I think its great but my only problems with it is how slow my ac is and the soundtrack Im a big fan of ac4a and i loved how fast that game was, i will never forget the airel fights i had in that game The ost in this game is good but i just wish it was better

I love this game but very much understand why it feels like it could use a little “more” From fromsofts point of view, why go out of your way to spend way too much time on things that won’t matter in the long run when the people who get the game will still enjoy it At the same time, why spend all that time and effort on a game that isn’t gonna have the same popularity as Elden Ring for example

For me, AC6 was the most enjoyable game I've played in a long time I like the iSouls/i series (well, except DS2) and iElden Ring,/i but often enough my enjoyment turned to frustration It never felt that with AC6, even when Balteus turned into a wall, for me Maybe it's just generally easier than those others games, but a major part is the fact that you're not quite so locked into a build Re-speccing is so much easier and without hassle At no point did the wall feel insurmountable and every boss I conquered made me feel great Conversely, by the time I beat Malenia, I felt positively dead inside I barely reacted to the victory AC6's engaging gameplay, more conventional narrative and great characters really held me more than any game I've played in a long time

Damn 12 hours? My first playthrough was 30-40 and took me a few weeks once I finished the first playthrough it started to click and I beat the next two within two days but damn it gets so fucking good once it clicks

For some reason, this game clicked with me almost immediately Like, the moment I started playing I was already hooked and I've never even played Armored Core before Not even the Souls games, which I'm a huge fan of, managed to get me so invested in a Fromsoft game as quickly as AC6 did

The power fantasy of destroying everything in your path is exactly what I want Its not about struggling, not everything HAVE to be Elden Ring but every enemy is Malenia Warframe is one of my favorite games and AC6 is one of the few games that have the same power fantasy feel

The stagger damage meter is absolutely the best implementation from the souls series, in fact; EVERY element they imported from their flagship games have been so well crafted into this game, nothing feels forced or shoe-horned, everything they ported over from their other games just ‘make sense’ Great review dude

It is a pretty great game, and runs perfectly on the Steam deck, but unfortunately for me and my reflexes I just couldn't cut it even on the first boss I'm not asking FromSoftware to make their games more accessible, I'm asking more developers to follow their lead and make sure the games actually RUN before releasing the damn things

You said you weren't sure how to make the small enemy segments matter, but the older generation Armored Core games handled it perfectly, minus the boss fights Each mission had you going from start to finish with no checkpoints, every bit of AP and ammo you could save mattered No repair kits either If you failed a mission, you'd be charged for the amount you spent and still earn nothing Some of the old ones would actually have a game over state as you went in-debt The level designs bwere/b the challenge of the game, not the fancy boss at the endbrbrI don't think the old sense of design would have worked with the way they wanted to ramp up the boss fights here It likely would've been really frustrating, but the old games had way more of a consistent difficulty throughout AC Parts in the old games also determined the routes you could take in a few missions as well, but this game doesn't really have any of them

First off this is coming from a AC veteran that started from AC1 back on the playstation back in like 1997/1998 or something This AC was lazy How do you manage to have less varity, options and smaller maps than a game that's over 20 years old It's sad because this game is in fact good I think this AC it felt like a lazy game that only did so because they let the success of Elden Ring get to their heads This game isn't a souls like If anything it's more like Monster Hunter But still You managed to make a game with less overall stuff than a 20 something year old game That makes me sad and it tells me 1 of 2 thingsbrbr1 The are going for a cash grab and will release a few DLC that adds the contentbrbr2 They had no idea the standards they had to live up tobrbrBut this is a good game by the standards set by first timers Remove the name Armored Core and you truly have a great Mech game But it's lacking because of the name it's inherited

I finally got all three endings of this game and I plan to replay the story on a new save, it's a shame that the game only has one save file Another gripe I have is that some of the bosses are really hard such as Arquebus, that guy was a laser storm hell, the Ayre fight, she is so damn speedy and ALLMIND why does the boss have to have backup ? I wish I had more repair kits during those fights But the game is a nice change of pace to be honest, complete the task(s) of the mission and mission complete

Quick note to the S-rank: the first determining factor is time as you said, but the other isn't necessarily your expenses, but the net pay as a wholebrbrThis is to account for the missions that give you bonus pay for destroying enemies or other tasks, and how those missions can seem to be harder/impossible to S-rank when only accounting for time and expenses

To be entirely fair, the "too easy" missions aren't there to be super engaging They're there to make you feel powerful before a boss comes along and destroys all the confidence you had built up by the cannon fodder

But the first armored core was one of my favorite PS games to replay Basically, i agree with Iron's last sentiment, and that being already in my mind is the only reason Im interested in this game now The best thing for Iron to do though, now that he has played one, is to find a breakdown of the 9, or so, other games he didn't play, and pick and choose which ones he thinks address his concerns about AC6

As someone whose introduction to FromSoft was with Armored Core, this game was a return to formbrbrI loved the short missions/small maps not only because it's such breath of fresh air amongst the massive exploration type games that are now commonplace today, but also because (like the early games) it helps hammer home that you're a merc who's in it for the cash That you're working for megacorporations that have so much money and so much to do, that they're willing to pay some random to do the easy menial stuff It's like getting paid a relatively exorbitant sum for something that "could've just been an email"brbrOne thing that I wish they kept from the old games was how easy it was to finish a mission either with 0 income or in debt Would've added more challenge to the game
