Ah, if the hardware fails, the backup is gone cause usually it fails the controller, so a gdrive is failsafe for the 99 EUR you gat 20 tb storage and fast network access, and 20 tb can easyly support 4 users 😅

Cost is prohibitive & you need 2 for another location or you buy Google drive for a dollar month of which goes up with ur storage needs but is still way cheaper & has tools for finding creating & sharing albums edits etc

Yeah, hosting your own NAS is a great way to have your data available or as a Level 1 (Local) Backup! However, you can get by far cheaper by using an old PC and second hand drives Less reliable yes, but for serious backups you should use differnt solutions anyways
