Objects that are in motion tend to stay in motion, Newton's 1st law You might think that you are stationary when in the train but from the perspective of someone outside the train, you are moving at the same speed the train is moving And because of that, you'll keep that motionbrbrWhen you jump in the train you're not jumping directly upwards, you're jumping diagonally along the motion of the train which is why you land on the same spot

Basically the air outside the train isn't moving with the train, so if you jump you encounter wind resistance that pushes you backwards The air inside the train is being carried along and moving with the train, so when you jump you don't encounter any resistance so you land in the same spotbrbrIt's like why your hand gets dragged backwards when you stick it out a car window as you drive, vs when you hold it up inside the car while you drive
