This was such a good move starting with a cold open like the television series Really made it feel like this was a crew that had been travelling together for a while now; the film simply skipped past all the growing pains and learning to work together you'd usually see lazier writers use to cultivate dramabrThe movie just puts it out there like the show: this is the USS Enterprise, this is it's crew, these are their journeys

I know people liked first two movies more than people who disliked them, but I didn't have a really high hopes for this because the first two were kinda meh (And Kirk seemed like a really dislikable douche) I only went to watch it only for the loyalty to the franchise, but this first scene got my hopes up immediately
