I read the script for this episode and its written that joel hesitates when he says "if myif mine" because he diesnt know what to call frank in relation to bill, but for some reason the way Pedro plays it, it reads to me like hes never had to place what to call tess in relation to himself I can definitely see both since tess and Joel's dynamic seems entirely unspoken and theres likely never been a need to call her anything, and he sees that reflected in bill and frank

And exactly what Joel said ends up happening in like the next scene brbrI don't quibble with game vs show differences Obviously this episode is a stand-out and most people loved it I just wish Bill Joel and Ellie would have had a chance to interact with each other You would lose some of the weight of the frank story so I understood why they did it

I love how Joel & Tess are trying desperately to put their best foot forward here and present themselves as upstanding, decent people When you think of all the innocent people they've ambushed, tortured and murdered in the past it's an interesting facade they're trying to maintain brbrOf course as they years went by they sort of moved on from being murderous people and settled in the QZ as smugglers, but it raises some questions regarding redemption in this broken world Is it even possible?
