Best duty in the Marine Corps! I would say though that they should've kept it as a special duty assignment instead of making it an MOS By the time you get a prestigious duty like that you shouldv'e already done at least one deployment or at least have the dumb crap out of your system Too risky for new marines especially considering some of the Marine Corps rules (some very unneccesary but thats just my opinion) Besides, once they get back to the fleet, they will hate their lives MSG is for people who are on their way out and want to have options when they leave, or people who want to make a career move I saw it as a great opportunity to make contacts and get a different taste of life before I hung up my uniform

These marines almost allowed another Iran hostage crisis to occur again when supporters of hezbollah stormed the US embassy in Iraq I guess they need more courage training in the usage of firearms Rules of engagement allows these marines to engage threats if they breach or trespass the embassy premises But last year, when it was clear that those rioters were trying to take over the embassy, these marines didn't utilize their firearms 🤦🤦 I guess there is no need for these marines to have guns, weapons, bulletproof vest, helmet and other sort of equipment, if they won't even use it or don't have the courage to use it
