Hello Is it just fine to power off hue sync box (without unplugging ps5 hdmi cable and connecting directly to tv) to be able to get 4k/120 again? Or powering off is not enough and i have to change hdmi cable connections?

Only ports 2 and 4 on the sync box output 4kbrbrYou need to use those ports to get the full resolution

Ps5 barely has any 120 fps games so I wouldn't worry tbh, 120hz support isn't really a dealbreaker for this because you'll be focusing on the screen for gaming so crazy lighting would just be a distraction anyway

Thinking of getting the sync box today which brought me to this video from what I'm understanding you don't get 4k 120fps on any games with the lights sync on but when they are on you get a maximum of 4k 60fps? It’s 1080p 120fps bro It’s not 4K 120fps The sync box can’t do 120fps pass through as of yet You can Google to see there isn’t a 4K 120fps for this game

Thanks for the video My current TV has no HDMI 21 so if I use the sync box (which has no hdmi 21 as well) I don’t lose anything, right? I can play 4K with 60 hz or 1920x80 with 100 hz, am I right? And a Syncbox 2 with hdmi 21 support is not announced so far or? So in 2021 it don’t seem to be a solution with PS5 and Syncbox for 4K 120 hz or? Based on Sony's own list there is only like 1 or 2 games that can actually do native 4k120 anyway Most games on the list it says 120fps at lower resolution meaning 1080p so it's not like you are missing out on anything really I would much rather play 4k60 than 1080p120

Thanks for the review, I thought you would need to swap over to direct connetion to get 120hz Just turns off the snyc and gives 120hz anyway which is acceptable However it is still not upscale 4k 120hz, 1080p probably looks pretty bad on larger panels I doubt that this sync box can ever support 120hz and VRR with a firmware update

Did you have HDR enabled on the PS5 for this? I’ve seen a lot of people having issues with the HUE Sync Box when HDR is enabled (more for Dolby Vision than HDR10), so I’m curious if that works properly?

I have recently purchased the gradient light strip but decided to hang fire on the sync box for the limitations you mentioned I’d also love to see the sync box itself have native apps that support Dolby vision / atmos as the ps5 doesn’t so if you watched Netflix on the console you’d see downgraded content

I have it, but just a bit ashame that it doesnt work with 120fps Hopefully Philips will release in the near future a Hdmi 21 version of the Sync Box One other important thing to know, is that all your connected products are only on 1 Hdmi port on your Tvso you will have to switch between for example game mode On and Off on your Tv (i have the LG CX), if you have a Ps5, as it doesnt support ALLM (Automatic Low Latency Mode) at this moment (January 2021)
