Cabrini was a tourist attraction back in the 90s early 200s like 0 block is now We would be checking out the buildings from a far distance with bincoluors lolbut would never pass by close up with snipers in the high rises It did have an Erie vibe to it perfect place for Candyman to be filmed They also made heaven is a playground there the year before and whiteboyz had scenes there as well n a few other movies

If you want to complain to the Housing Authority, and/or HUD complain to your US Representative & Senator HAs and HUD pay attention to complaints that come in under Congressional letterhead If you don't follow up, after the first response, they assume the problem is solved

I used to live in the Hilliard Homes in the south loop in chicago I stayed on the 8th floor and remember looking down to see about 8 guys in between the 2 buildings all shooting the same type of chrome pistols at a car that was rapidly driving backwards (obviously scared shiless) After that the City tried to implement CHA security in the building which didn't last there because one day after picking my daughter up from school, right as we were walking back up toward the buildings, I heard a series of gunshots and people running and screaming because they were shooting at the security guard through the bullet proof security booth Those buildings are still standing and occupied to this day on 22nd and State I stayed in the 2030 building

Ive seen loads of housing projects in my time in and out and while i generally think they are crime ridden shitholes it IS true that there are nice, well kept apartments in these places and the potential for really nice homes The fact that they arent isnt entirely on the quality of the residents, but also failures, corruption, and incompetence of the cities/states managing them
