I recently acquired a table mold that has rounded inside corners that stick out into the mold so I know that I'm going to have to sand whatever I pour in it I would love to do a river table among other ideas I have for it Thanks for the tips I need to pick up some tools so I can try to get the best possible results I've never made any sort of resin table top before but I can't wait to try it There's multiple themes I really want to do because it should be fun

What is the best tape to use on the underside if you want to fill in a bug hole or crack that goes all the way through? Any issues with the sticky side of the tape being in contact with the resin?

@RobDucharme
I built a multipurpose outfeed table (made my own hold down channels because T-Track would have cost WAY too much for this table), and I built a router sled jig that locks into the sides of the table Works fantastic

John, all great advice except one thing - a pressure pot is not the same thing as a vacuum chamber Both can be used to eliminate bubbles in resin but they work in opposite ways If you want to use a pressure pot, you need to leave your entire project inside the pressurized pot until it fully cures, which is no good for tables and generally big projects The principle here is that the pressure squeezes the air bubbles inside the resin so much that they become virtually invisible, but the pressure needs to be maintained until the resin hardens If you want to eliminate the air bubbles before pouring resin into a mold, you need to use a vacuum chamber which depressurizes the resin so much that the air bubbles expand and are sucked out of it (visually it gives the impression as if the resin was boiling, and it's best to make sure that the container in which you put the resin into the chamber is big enough to avoid spilling) Once the bubbles stop coming out, the resin can be poured into a mold I'm sure you know all this but beginners might get quite confused ;)brbrAlso, metric system rules! :D

@acfretworks
One of the things I've done to avoid bubbles is to pre-coat the edges of the wood that will be joined by the resin I just mix a small batch of the resin and paint it onto those edges That way it works its way into the wood and seals it to stop it from aerating into the resin I pour The trick is to not let the pre-coat fully cure before the final pour That way you still get full adhesion I know this trick works on guitars so I'm sure it would work on tables as well
Comment from : @acfretworks
