Next time, just shave down those solder joints, and the ribbon will slip right in And if special board comes with a chipset RF shield, move it to the new board Idea is to keep it stock, much as you can anyway I'm subbing your channel You still get a thumbs-up in my book👍😉🛠 Comment from : Александр Мельников |

I never skip Ifixit sponsor part lol Comment from : viniciusrisse_ |
I hate how he just skips right over basic troubleshooting THIS IS NOT HOW YOU DO IT!! Use common sense You don't need a battery in your PSP to get it to power on Just use the power cable It would be a shame to purchase a battery for a PSP that doesn't power on Which leads to my next point He didn't even attempt to start it up to make sure it actually powered on and could have used a flashlight if it did power up to test the backlight A new screen is $15 Don't just start tearing into your PSP until you've at least powered it on and made sure it was the screen or backlight not functioning Test the UMD while you're at it You need to remove the screen to access the UMD tray screws anyway so might as well do it all at the same time, if necessary 1 out of every 3 "for parts/no power" PSP's I buy on Ebay work perfectly Comment from : John M |

It's nice to see a REAL repair on a PSP as opposed to those annoying fake ones that are always covered in mud Comment from : John Alder |
Um NO You should have stopped with the angle cutters before RIPPING the pins off the pads That’s how you rip a pad of the board But you already know that!??? Comment from : Ben Morse |
I had this same exact model! I gave some junkie $20 for it back in the day Comment from : dmaskell92 |

Awesome job! Thanks to your channel, you got me interested in learning how to solder/de-solder and fix some of my broken controllers I'm about 2 months into the journey and have fixed over 10x Xbox One / Series controllers, including 5x Elite Series 2 controllers Just fixed my first PS5 Dualsense controller last week and plan to expand into doing more of those and some retro console modding Cheers! Nice to see PSP repair video Its hard to find good batery replace Comment from : Pietrek86 |
I found this fascinating, even though it gives me flashbacks to Lenovo's horrible m2 SSD cable that breaks more easily than, say, an m2 slot on a motherboard might but anyway, I have to wonder, what was left of the old PSP? Just the case (including controllers) and UMD? Comment from : azalea |
Can I send you my childhood N64 to fix? Comment from : Nick Bracken |

I saved the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit to my Amazon list I have another kit but not like that one with the electronic grounding wrist strap I used to have one of those but lost it Comment from : Smed Lap |
With you havning to connect the charger, someone might think the "BMS" of this PSP isn't working But as you pointed out the AM-batteries aren't really a viable option so you might just keep a powerbank and powercable with you if you love playing PSP on the go Comment from : OskyEdz |
I want your ifix tools! I hope I can have mine I'm from the Philippines :) Please greet me in your next video Comment from : Jodel Pascual |
Dude I JUST repaired my PSP about 4 days ago and thought "How cool would it be if Tronics made a PSP repair video" No waaaaay Comment from : Moby |
I have been casually searching for a new PSP 2000 LCD screen for months, but every listing on Amazon and Aliexpress seems to have issues with dead pixels, vertical lines, and other problems If anyone has a recommendation, that would be great Comment from : Sunny Buoy |
I am currently fixing my co worker’s psp 3000 when he tried to replace the housing and disconnected everything except the power button somehow and was about to throw it away Bro, I got you And TronicsFix is my hero for inspiration ❤ Comment from : yu Mark |
Another great fix !! I think that's an aftermarket shell not the original you can tell by the quality of te plastic and the off colour markings on it Comment from : Carlos Carlitos |
Those special editions are just for milking money from ppl , nothing special inside and just the shell outside :D Comment from : Fero R |
So you put a PSP-1000 board on a PSP-2000 device Alright Comment from : aftermathsample305 |
