sahar
It's sad that I didn't grow up watching fuse however mtv 2 and mtv rocks were enough to get me into the rock and metal scene
Comment from : sahar

Craig007
Fuse and MySpace were a great time in music discovery Especially for fans in the metalcore, post hardcore, emo & indie genres And I lived thru part of the 80s and 90s & seen MTV at its best & still think Fuse did it better Now days people technically have even more access to music but over accessibility kinda killed the feeling of discovery peopke used to have, it just not the same The 2000s were just a great time
Comment from : Craig007

Ruminating 15
Man, Fuse put me on to so many rock bands that might have been too "Indie" or "Hardcore" for MTV and what not I love this channel back in like 2005 ish
Comment from : Ruminating 15

La Merveille
As much as I hated the fuse bumpers because they scared me for some reason it still had some good music videos
Comment from : La Merveille

La Merveille
I grew up on fuse mtv and music choicebrI’m also grateful that I went to Cameroon and kept watching mtv hits, trace urban, boom tv and trace Africa at least I could still watch music channels
Comment from : La Merveille

Manny Quintero
YouTube is now the place to be, the issue it’s that music and videos is so fragmented in YouTube that it feels like a niche now
Comment from : Manny Quintero

irregular mana
Fuse was god like in the early/ mid 2000s I remember it was fucking awesome
Comment from : irregular mana

Extol 4000
I always used to watch Matthew Good Band & Our Lady Peace videos; praying that they would tour America My fondest memory is an acoustic show that Brand New performed on Fuse

solprovider
This describes MTV from inception through early 1990s, just change the names of bands and shows, and play songs which are not time-aligned (no feeling) or pitch-corrected (not human) br- Not the fault of FUSE that current songs could no longer be cared about, so people stopped caring Teenagers enjoyed energy of WARPED tours, went home listening to either 60s, 70s, or 80s: arguing for Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, or Def Leppard
Comment from : solprovider

Ben Longwell
I miss all those channels they were awesome MTV started the suckage around 98 with TRL, NSYNC and the Backstreet boys Christmas 98 is when they switched over MTV used to be so important I had a huge crush on Yuliya from Fuse

Natalie Jarosz
I first got introduced to MCR when my 10/11-year-old mind was blown around winter/spring 2005 by the Helena video on MTV2 I was definitely a fan by the sixth grade
Comment from : Natalie Jarosz

Luca Peyrefitte
I remember Fuse, it was so cool, especially when I went to New York the first time and I saw an ad for it on the big tv screen, I wonder what happened to them I loved watching it in the 2010s
Comment from : Luca Peyrefitte

One Standing Webzine
we didn't have Fuse in France but i remember (and i'm kinda ashamed to admit that) i used to illegally download shows about Green Day because i was a die hard fan back in the day From here, i could almost feel the vibe about heavy music genres We had MTV but it wasn"t the same thing even though it introduced me to Sum 41 Thank u MTV for that but i would have loved to actually watch Fuse This video reminded me of so many bands thank you!
Comment from : One Standing Webzine

HoracioAmiritoDiaz
Uranium was one of the best music interview shows ever and predates current vloging with the hand held camera
Comment from : HoracioAmiritoDiaz

Okay noteI own that exact KK Slider shirt and I was having a moment seeing someone I am obsessed with ALSO wearing it LOL
Comment from : Jasmine Orchid

Romelle
I always preferred the shows that played a variety of random music videos Things got kinda lame towards the end of the BET and MTV music vid era You could guess what artists were going to be played on TRL and 106 and Park They should've just ended the daily countdown shows, and played random vids each daybrI like what applemusic is doing with video channel I never know what's coming next
Comment from : Romelle

Crush40Cool
RIP Scuzz and MTV Rocks here in the uk We only have Kerrang left
Comment from : Crush40Cool

MusicNerdDavid
I remember watching the countdowns on fuse nearly every day My big standout video was Brick by Boring Brick by Paramore I remember them playing that one a lot and that video always stuck with me
Comment from : MusicNerdDavid

Lonnie
Now we have YouTube The videos are available for viewing whenever you like I prefer it as I can skip what I don’t like I guess it’s harder to discover newer bands But they kinda of promoted whoever they wanted anyway
Comment from : Lonnie

Slippy Jones
MMUSA/Fuse was so cool I grew up on MTV playing, pretty much nothing but music videos and around the late 90's that was almost completely phased out to usher in an "all reality TV all the time" era I was in my early twenties when we got MMUSA, I still remember when they rebranded to Fuse The show "Uranium" with Juliya Chernetsky, is one of my all time favorite music shows, because you KNEW she was a HUGE metal fan, and most of the time cursed more than the bands did I was turned on to All American Rejects from Fuse, The Starting Line from Fuse, I grew an appreciation for Cradle of Filth from Fuse They did a release party for Good Charlotte's album "Good Morning Revival" Such a great channel!
Comment from : Slippy Jones

T J
I vaguely remember a channel called Scuzz which was all alternative music and a english magazine called Kerrang had their own channel Both are probably defunct now
Comment from : T J

Alexander Amaya
Idea for a video, not sure if you have done it, what are your thoughts on the album format, there are artist saying will start releasing only singles, but there are others (Billie, Adele) that have stated they will keep releasing full on albums
Comment from : Alexander Amaya

RajaReign78
Man this video speaks to my childhood and teenager soul I really miss the music video channels We had MTV, VH1, CMT, Fuse, GAC, MTV2, Palladia, and BET now all those channels are either gone, crappy movies edited for time & content, or realty shit shows 😔💔🙄
Comment from : RajaReign78

Diana-Mihaela
I am way too young to have caught the days of the original music video streaming tv channels such as fuse and mtv, but, last summer, my father was fixing my grandparents' tv and I got to browse through the channel list, and that's how I discovered that mtv has a related channel named mtv 00's, which basically only plays music videos from the decade, sort of like a rerun of what they were broadcasting in that era, and I guess that's the closest I'll ever get to experiencing that kind of nostalgia
Comment from : Diana-Mihaela

Ryan McClure
jon you NEED to check out the latest release from between you & me that dropped yesterday armageddon a very fresh soaring pop punk record, features yours truly on one of the songs too my favorite pop punk record of the last several years i’d love to hear your thoughts
Comment from : Ryan McClure

Martin Babich
Here in Italy, we have a channel called Virgin radio It isn't quite as introspective as Fuse, but it does focus on rock music and show it throughout the day without interruptions Growing up I used to watch MTV and VH1, now that those have fallen I like Vergin radio a lot more
Comment from : Martin Babich

Paul Edwards
I grew up with early 90s MTV (that still showed a lot of late 80s stuff as well) and there was so much good stuff, Alternative Nation, Headbangers Ball, 120 Minutes, MTV Jams, etc
Comment from : Paul Edwards

Rupert
What happened to your review of Sleigh Bells - Texis??? I was excited to watch that

Fuse is how I found out about 30 Seconds to Mars and A7X I moved onto to way heavier stuff in college but definitely still love a lot of their music Definitely a gateway Damn, thanks, fuse Also, ya'll need a podcast together I need more shit to listen to
Comment from : Mae Z

LisandroXIII
I don't know if we had Fuse, def MTV, MuchMusic and VH1, although it seems like it would've been SO much fun being around that era This is because I still enjoy putting on music channels on tv and watch some music videos Are they good channels? Absolutely not, but I still like to do it, to let it run out, because I'm an indecisive soab and can't decide what to put on YT (if it's on tv I do put on YT or Spotify but sometimes it's easier to put like MTV or something) But yeah, there some type of countdowns or special "playlists" dedicated to a genre/artists on MTV, which I like but very few and nothing to get me too exited as not even many years ago; VHI had a channel like MTV with just music videos and they'd still put some good like "playlist" (sorry Idk how to call them), and I got excited if it was dedicated to an artist or theme I like and would sneak out to watch it
Comment from : LisandroXIII

Amanda Dockery
Will music video channels ever make a comeback
Comment from : Amanda Dockery

DefyReality1993
Fuse was truly a magical place I loved the diversity in the music from Pop to Metal to Rap & Hip-Hop They play everything and I loved them for that I loved Loaded, getting to see a collection of videos from both my fave bands/artists and bands/artists who would be become my new faves was an amazing moment of my life!
Comment from : DefyReality1993

EMF
I used to covet Fuse in the same way I remember when we didn't get it at my house but I guess my cousin had a fancy enough cable package to get it We'd visit my cousin for the 4th of July and I'd try to sneak inside while everyone was doing family stuff so I could watch Fuse for a few minutes
Comment from : EMF

GamingVampire
I was deep in my rap phase when I watched Fuse and this was the channel that introduced me into bands like MCR, Taking Back Sunday, Paramore, Aiden, Avenged Sevenfold, The Used, and many more
Comment from : GamingVampire

JCLexicon
I'm a simple person; when I see nods to the RIOB, I likebrbr5:15 brings me back to the olden days of the reviewing community on this space If you know, you know :P

Trenton Worsham
FUSE and Steelroots (a Wednesday video countdown on a Christian channel) shaped the music I loved and found in high school Underoath and Norma Jean etc on steelroots before blowing up onto FUSE and adtr Paramore MCR on FUSE
Comment from : Trenton Worsham

Holly Roxy
I never got Fuse on my cable but MTV was everything to me growing up It’s all I watched from as early as 9 years old lol At least there’s Pluto tv like you said, there’s no VJ’s but at least they play all music videos I love their Block party channel that plays a block of videos from one artist/band & the 90’s & Millennium channels Great video btw 🤘

DormRoomLaser
I'm too young to have watched Fuse or early 00s MTV (I just turned 20) but I'm honestly very surprised that YouTube, Twitch, Spotify, or Apple Music hasn't tried some sort of livestream music "channel" like Fuse or MTV yet I'm also surprised that Billboard hasn't taken the opportunity to bring back the real American top 40 as a recorded stream on Spotify You could just listen to it on Spotify or Apple Music on Sunday The actual American Top 40 was pulled from radio in the early 90s due to certain stations refusing to play certain songs because grittier rap was starting to cross over, and you wouldn't have to worry about that today on streaming I know I'd listen to it!
Comment from : DormRoomLaser

Elise McClelland
I have a handful of Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, and My Chem music videos so deeply embedded into my conscience thanks to Fuse We used to watch Fuse in my parents room while getting ready for school in the mornings when I was in elementary school
Comment from : Elise McClelland

AliceQueenOfMadness
GodI miss Fuse so much! MTV had mostly stopped playing Music Videos by the time I hit my teens and was really into watching them so I really only had Fuse before I became fully immersed in Youtube Fuse played all my favorite artists from Britney Spears to Korn and everything in between RIP Fuse, you are dearly missed
Comment from : AliceQueenOfMadness

Clone Commander Brett
Helena is still my favourite music video ever First saw it on Singstar Pop for the PS2 Found out recently it was directed by Marc Webb, who would go on to make 500 Days of Summer and the Amazing Spider-Man movies
Comment from : Clone Commander Brett

SimoLambo
I am Italian and we had MTV Italy as a tv channel, and also another channel called All Music Back in the early 2000s sometimes it was the only way to listen to your favourite song, and you maybe needed to wait for hours (unless you bought the cd) I also remember that between 2004 and 2010 I always watched TRL (Italian version) while doing my homeworkbrHonestly, I've never heard about Fuse, probably it was an American thing
Comment from : SimoLambo

Mesousa Gaby
It saddens me that I couldn't at least see Fuse's last few decent years My cable service took it out in 2007 and I never got to see how it was in the very late 2000's And when I briefly got the channel again, it was undeniably not the same Fuse is just a generic zombie that is inexplicably still alive I mean, there's FM (Fuse Music), it's spin-off channel that does have music, butit's barely in in cable services
Comment from : Mesousa Gaby

madame_bizarre
In Europe (or at least some European countries) besides MTV and VH1 we had a music channel called VIVA, which originally started broadcasting in Germany It was mainly for teenagers, but still they were playing all kinds of music/music videos, interviewed a lot of different artists etc, so everybody could find something for themselves That was fun and exciting as a kid Sadly, airing dumb reality shows instead of actual music and the rise of the Internet has ruined music channels I'm not saying YouTube or Spotify are bad, but There was something cool in waiting in front of the TV for your favourite song to play 😁 I feel old 🤣
Comment from : madame_bizarre

*(h3/$3@*
The only music video channel that still exists is the fuckin country music channel it's so lame

BKLYN TZU
The thing I loved about Fuse was they revamped what MTV was when it first started in the '80s the VJs knew the music they understood the audience and they were on location for the shows

Quentin “Bring the Nu Metal” Childs
It’s sad I never grew up on Fuse, but I do have this fond memory of laying down in my parent’s room, and watching, for the first time, Evanescence’s “Call Me When You’re Sober” music video I’ll never forget that; that had to be one of my first experiences with rock and metal music The music video has been my favorite ever since
Comment from : Quentin “Bring the Nu Metal” Childs
