Hi notice you say about not using tap water Afraid I've fallen foul of this I'm going to switch to filter jug water BUT I'm wondering if u can use water from my fish tank? Its treated for chloromine and chlorine etc but does have lots nutrients as I use it for all my other plants

Hi I water my calathea with tap water and also mist it with rain water every morning It’s about 4ft away from a south facing window I don’t let the soil dry out New leaves are growing but it has a few leaves that are dry and crispy on the tips What is causing it?

I shower my calathea in my bathtub Like I do with my gold palm Only problem is I just got tap water there if any problems you mentioned occur I will ad aquarium water drops to the water for the soil and just shower her velvety leaves

I have my calatheas right in front of my east facing window, and they love it!! My daughter in law regularly buys me plants, and upon seeing how well the calathea does in front of my 20’ east facing apt window, she’s bought me a few, and I love them!!

I find they're absolute thrip magnets - some of my plants will stoically soldier on for a time before i notice they have an infestation, but calatheas instantly start looking like death Doesn't help the bastards love hiding in the curled up new leaves

Have you got any tips for a calathea (living / prayer plant) that gets spider mites? I've cut it down to just 3 leaves, all of which have brown tips still and sprayed with pesticide, sprayed with soapy water (I use dehumidifier water) and done a neem oil watering in the soil It's perked up, but looks worse for wear and not growing any new leaves I'm still noticing some webbing coming back Hoping the neem will take effect soon It's so frustrating

My variegated arrowroot are doing great they just hate dry soil, and if there’s brown spot just cut it not the whole leaves though unless it’s completely brownbrbrAlso any tips for Pinestripe? I just ordered mine and had no idea about it’s care routine
