Is the NH-D15 the best option for air cooling in such a small enclosure as opposed to the smaller NH-U12S? Has anyone compared to see if in this particular enclosure bigger is not necessarily better but less is more as you discovered with the single case fan? Comment from : Barbara Elliott |
Hi Christopher and All,brHope all is well!brI have the same case with an 13600K and an RTX 3070 running on a Noctua NH-U9s and getting pretty high temperatures what would you suggest to cool it down? Perhaps 2 fans or a swap for a120mm water cooling?br:(brAny help is appreciatedbrThanks! Comment from : Carlos Bernardino |

Thanks much! Very informational! Comment from : Xequi |

Excellent video I'm building an ITX system with this case and you information was the most complete in could find Great job! Comment from : MorboHND |
Christopher Flannigan what do you like more TU150 or NR200? i think most things point to nr200, what about best thermals with a u12a? also nr200? (dont test, just suggest) Comment from : tftandchill |
This was immensely helpful, I was leaning towards an air cooler with this case (seemed to be what it was designed for) and this just reinforces that decision Thanks a lot! Comment from : Felix Gaunt |
Amazing scientific video, great job! Comment from : Magnus Svensson |
damn so much juicy info just laid out Love the accent :P Comment from : Wa͟l̀ho͞r |

the phanteks p200a has me wanting to sell my tu150, its 50$ usd and i can load it with arctic p12 and p14 fans Im just trying to figure out if it can fit a nh-d15 Still lian li-s design including the handle is pretty un beaten while being able to use a cooler that large as well Also i really want a mesh side panel that isnt glass for this chassis I feel like it would help a lot or metal with partial mesh around the gpu up to VRM area Comment from : andola jackson |
Man this case runs HOT CPU is 10 degrees from throttling with the best fan configuration? Wow Comment from : Tony Cheek |
If this case had top fan option would it help thermals?brI cant believe with that large air cooler it still gets so hot Comment from : BARBELLS AND BUDS |
this guy is so good Comment from : Thắng Nguyễn |
Wow, cooling in this case is brutal even with an AIO :(brbrI have a TU150 right now and I'm finding gaming temps always at GPU 75 and CPU 68-75 It's not terrible but I start to see GPU downclocking that starts at 70C in my HWiNFO64 logs I think the main culprit is that the GPU is pumping more heat into the case than the exhaust fan can remove, so it raises the overall interior temp which the CPU cooler draws air from to cool What would make this better is if the CPU had ducting to intake air from outside the case and exhausted it straight out the rear port, and the front fan used as an exhaust to vent the interior air heated by the GPU Bottom grills for passive air intake I'm not sure if it would be worth it though I guess I could make some cardboard ducting as an experiment, but at what point do I just buy a case with better thermals? This is sooooooo helpful! Thank you so much for making this video!!!!!! Comment from : Planetoid Studio |
thanks mate! Comment from : wAvm |
Odd, I had much better (-8c) gpu temps using bottom fans with my 2080ti founders, and much better (-10c) cpu temps using push pull front mounted radiator I did not factor noise but even with openback headphones it did not make noise unpleasant Comment from : Khufu |
question I was thinking of setting my fans below the gpu as exhaust , did you try this config ? Comment from : Metical |
Are you able to compare the glass side to the optional metal side with GPU vents? Seems like GPU exhaust is a weaker aspect in this glass version Comment from : Alistair |
Hey Please tell me Noctua NH-D15brbr fits in this case without problems? Comment from : 170teg5kg8io1f |

What monitor are you using? Comment from : REKTified |
とても有益な情報ありがとうございます!! Comment from : キハ1 |
Hey Chris, got almost the exact same build although i opted to use a single fan set up for the NH-D15 CPU temps under load max out at 80, average around 70 Do you think adding the second fan would help? Or do I add an exhaust? Also thoughts on NF-F12 vs S12? Comment from : Lorenzo Orbeta |
have you tried the bottom fans with a blower style gpu? Comment from : jquintero |
Best cooler for this case is having a corsair H80i V2 push/pull at the front and 1 exhaust fan on the rear Already tried the D15 and U14S in this case AIO is the way and mount the SSD at the top Comment from : Rick West |
I travel alot and I usually bring my MSI trident 3 with me on the airplane as a carry on I’m thinking of building in this case so my question is; what is better in terms durability? Aio or air cooling? With durability I mean the risk of something coming loose, breaking the cpu from extra weight etc Comment from : Johan Falk |
This is such a great video, so helpful Comment from : dirty sprite |

Hey dude Great video, but it seems you're writing your first name wrong Comment from : Kristoffer Hellesø |
Just discovered your channel and enjoying it very much Science and data driven and clear concise Appreciate the videos ! Comment from : Donnie B |
Did you ever consider running the D15 with one just fan (center)? Or would that simply run too hot on the 3700x? I am running this configuration myself on the 3600, but that probably runs a fair bit coolerbrGreat video btw! Comment from : Fredrik Lindner |
just to add, my video card is a 2 slot/ 2 fan one which is shorter than the card you are using and i plan to mount it toward the bottom front to get more clearance ( at least partial) from the video card Comment from : P dureska |
Very informative video! Thanks for that Have the tu150 myself and will keep your info in mind Just one little thing, smile a little bit more :D Comment from : Maurice Dröge |
and another fantastic video, thank you chris, great followup to the first build video , you ve got a new sub Comment from : Mehdie |

Does this case have the option to add further 25 inch drives? Comment from : lRaVen7l |

Thank you so much for this video I had 4 x chassis fans in my pcpartpicker list for my TU150 build i would never have thought just the Noctua CPU cooler and one front intake fan would be the optimal set up! I have subscribed mate, really appreciate your content Comment from : bendy |

An excellent review, thank you! Clear Concise and Data driven Comment from : Marcus Stavchansky |

Hey man, very helpful video! I'm thinking of building a pretty similar configuration in this case Just with a Ryzen 5 5600x and an RTX 3070 or RX 6800 Nice to see you tried a lot of combos in terms of cooling Just wanted to ask how loud it gets with the best air cooler combo Like, dBs are nice, but in terms of actual noise how good is it A video with some sound under load would be pretty awesome Comment from : Valar Dracarys |
THANK YOU! Comment from : WH Y |
If you manage to actually find 1, I'd recommend you take a look at the nr200p A direct comparison with the TU150 would be very interesting Comment from : Veyron_fan |

You sound very similar to Car Cleaning Guru lol It threw me for a loop Comment from : desinoober |

Thanks for the video! I am waiting for a CPU and GPU to finish my own TU150 (with vented side) computer And I managed to pick up an NH-D15 for about 60 Euro So this video is very helpfulbrOne of the key features in this case, apart from the carry-handle is that with some pain it is possible to mount most ATX power supplies So I can re-use my existing, expensive 950W PSU even if it is not perfectly pretty insidebrbrWhat I will practically need to do is: run a 3-slot RTX3080 without extra intake fans And using just one of the included fans on the NH-D15, because the frontal one is clashing with ATX power supply Will see if it will handle the heat Perhaps I will keep the sidewall off under heavy use :) Comment from : SDX9000 |
Love this channel New subscriber now Question for everybody, if the 5900X ends up impossible to get, should I just go 3950X or should I still wait?brI'm not a gamer I want an amazing work computer and I want to be able to get into gaming Comment from : Steven S |
Awesome job on your recent build videos for the TU150 and Lancool II Mesh! Have you tried a reverse air flow setup in the TU150 with 120mm fans as rear intake and front exhaust? I would be very curious to see thermal testing results compared to the standard front intake/rear exhaust Comment from : Gareth S |

Do you think the windowless version with the additional gpu vent on the side would be a reasonable thermal upgrade? Comment from : Seth Marber |
