My dad let the house go in 08/09 because it was something about the value of the home not being worth what he was paying anymore or the value of it wasn’t more than what was owed or something of that sort … but he did a short sale on the house so it wouldn’t affect him on paper … not really sure how that works … but thank god my dad was smart and frugal, when he did the short sale he already had found a bigger house that a bank repossessed in the same community and he bought it for 150k … he put in another like 50k to fix it because our family (mexicans) literally did everything uncles did home remodeling like framing, tile floor and painting that he fixed the whole house up for 50k … me and my sister was being nosy on Zillow the other day … the home is about to hit 1 million dollars … my father has never made more than 25 dollars an hour … but he was always a penny pinched and invested in policies and stuff that he cashed out etc… They always joke around and say I’m the “eredero” the inheriter … but I know they are saying the truth I’m glad I’ll always have property that’s paid off already to not worry about Comment from : Zae Garcia |
