When I've watched and "studied" chimpanzee behaviors, they are and can be extremely unpredictable Their moods can change in a snap of your fingers One thing I've seen is while ALL chimpanzees can be extremely dangerous, and potentially lethal animals, the females are often less aggressive than the males Again that's NOT saying the females are less dangerous Chimpanzees again all can be potentially dangerous Males however especially in the wild have to show their strength and superiority and that instinct is one more reason why they shouldn't ever be treated as a pet Their instincts alone, especially the males, will eventually want to claim it's superiority Whether that can be "bred out" of them? Not a clue, but honestly I can't see how hundreds and hundreds and hundreds or years of instincts can be changed? I don't think it can be changed

I absolutely love chimpanzees and orangutans They are such an incredible animal to watch and study Each one has such an amazing ability to watch and learn I've noticed that chimpanzees and orangutans are always watching, paying attention, learning Whether it's to try an escape from the zoo, or if it's being kept in some other captivity, home, or ???? Their minds are ALWAYS working 100 Their instincts have been ingrained into their minds Always watch, always learn Their mother's would have taught them how to survive, forage for food, how to build a nest(orangutan), and every other survival techniques that they'd need to live Sadly many babies are taken from their mothers Whether it's from the illegal Bush meat trading, the illegal pet trades, poaching, or to clear out land for the Palm Oil Plantations to begin planting Whatever the reasons, whatever the causes, the babies are torn from their mother's arms Again Chimpanzees and Orangutans are highly intelligent animals They can and the DO remember events, tragic or terrifying things that happened to them They may not remember every detail, however they can pick up a smell? Or a look? Maybe a 👕👔shirt🎽👕, or some other miniscule object that if they see it, smell it, or sense it, it can make them potentially snap, freak out, and possibly attack? One more reason why trying to "domesticate" chimpanzees can be an extremely dangerous thing to attempt Yes they are beautiful animals, and as babies they are absolutely one of the most adorable, sweet, cuddly, and goofy little fuzzballs you'll ever see! They are incredibly beautiful! But also the potential for extremely dangerous events is very high Once a chimpanzee decides that it's angry and wants out, you'll have an animal with the strength of 3 to 4 men Hands like a vice grips, and legs that can also grab with force and power that we as human beings can't match I would LOVE to be able to care for an infant chimpanzee or a baby orangutan The reality is however that these are wild animals and need to be taught how to become a wild animal to be returned to the wild In the end we have to avoid our own selfishness, our desire to have this animal for a pet, when it was never meant to be a pet brMaybe if they were bred for it after many generations, but again that's the selfishness thing They are not meant to wear pants, ride tricycles, or other "cute" things I don't know, maybe it's possible, but after seeing the damage one of these animals can do when they become aggressive, agitated, or just plain pi$$ed off, I again don't see any upside to owning one
