Would it be possible to get a video on fps for BMPCC ? Comment from : @Massrali7 |

My blackmagic 6k stops recording 12 seconds recordingsettings (Braw,50 fps,constant bitrate,3:1) using Samsung T5 2Tb ssdplease do replyThank you Comment from : @alexantonypg6216 |
I thought that constant quality just maximizes the bitrate at all times? Either that or it adjusted bitrate, usually increases only to accomodate for complicated shots Constant quality seems more lossless than constant bitrate Right? I see a lot of different thoughts on this Comment from : @Joe-ot5bo |
Do you ever shoot in 12:1 or do you stick to something higher like 3:1 or 5:1? Comment from : @jhernandezpvd |
Update 79 bricked my BMPCC4K any suggestions? Same problem with 6K Comment from : @asando6432 |
The F1, F2, F3 buttons should be used for some things that are not directly accessible from the touch screen Those settings surround the touch screen display, and are just one touch away Other assets can populate the F buttons Comment from : @cinemaipswich4636 |
Don’t understand why other manufacturers can’t implement a menu like this Blackmagic is the Apple for cameras Comment from : @mehdilali83 |
I thought the standard for shooting in Europe was 25p? Why are you shooting 2398p? Comment from : @sinmente8468 |

Thanks Comment from : @nataliapilati3892 |
You know the HFR button beside the screen is the easiest way to switch fps right? No need to tap the screen a couple times Just one button press Comment from : @slaction |
hi, at 7:33 does it happens randomly? During shooting it's all fine but when viewing in NLE the weird pixel colours appear and you can't do anything to fix the footage even if it's in BRAW? OMG that is very risky isn't it? So is it advisable to pixel remap before every shoot starts? Comment from : @vitabcdefghijklmno |
Thanks for this video! I'm ordering my 6k pro next week So I've had flicker from a strobe light in the past To get rid of this I change the shutter angle How will I know it doesnt show up play it back? Sorry for basic beginner question! Thanks so much Comment from : @bethangilmartin6436 |

Hi Matt! When shooting in extreme low light, such as early dawn or dusk, without lighting (documentary), what would you recommend for compression ratio on the BMPCC 6K? 5:1? Any other low light shooting tips you may have, from past experience, I would greatly appreciate it Thanks for everything you do! Comment from : @MrIanWebb |

In your covid Q&A video you said you don't use 800 or 1000 ISO on the BMPCC4K Is that different on the 6K or did you change your opinion? Comment from : @WidescreenContent |

Really cool video and explanation 1 thing I just can't figure out: how do you go to your latest clip in the viewfinder? When I press the play button on the back of the camera it will just show a random clip all the time, instead of the latest shooted clip Any suggestions? Comment from : @aminoacids13 |
Great video! when I begin color grading in DaVinci, I noticed the terms "generation" followed by a 4 or 5 If I am shooting in RAW Constant Quality QO, Im aware of switching the clips to Black Raw but the generation stuff is confusing to me Could you explain that to me? thanks man! Comment from : @GregoryPLoomis |
Those settings dont matter when you can change everything in raw post Comment from : @favier9856 |
Hello Matt What city are you in? I have a indie film 🎥 that I may consider you for to shoot What are your rates per day And do you have 30 seconds of your work that I can see Email me at elkhi60615@gmailcom My name is Johnny sett Look forward to hearing from you Comment from : @moshesett8580 |
great review question though, why do most people shoot at 2398 instead of 24? I know about signals on analogue tubes and interlaced it makes technical sense for that, but not sure why we still do it youre MUCH more of a pro than I am so im sure theres a reason thanks much Comment from : @flipnap2112 |
A really useful, practical guide, thanks! I'm glad to find this sort of content and not just camera reviews Comment from : @RobFisherUK |
I find myself shooting at 400 in-camera, but dropping it to 100 and highlight recovery in post; gives me the most DRbrbrShooting at Native ISO means I'm seeing the correct exposure on set, dropping to ISO 100 opens up additional highlights that would be lost in iso 400, while also dropping down my noise floor Comment from : @VRcation |
what about the IRIS? Thanks for the cool video! Comment from : @SergeiShmal |
The smaller the shutter angle, when shooting slo-mo, the less blur there is Comment from : @Drrezzin |

Question! What do your export settings look like with the Bmpcc4k/6k for youtube?brYour videos always look so good, I’ve yet to find a export process in davinci that sits well with me Comment from : @micahgomez1253 |
After watching this video, I just purchased your master collection of Luts! Keep up the great content! Comment from : @spencerosborne |
Thank you for this! Exactly the video I've been searching for I'm about to buy the BMPCC6KP (my first proper "Cinema" camera) Also, subscribed! Comment from : @Genshi |
Question: Let’s say your at that point in between the two dual ISO settings You’re under moderately low light with only practicals If I’m trying to maintain the lowest noise levels, would it make sense to shoot at 1250 and ND down to maintain highlights and exposure and also maintain decent clean shadows? Comment from : @8kisok703 |
I bring color charts and grey cards ti the shoot but never had chance to use them because in real life my shoots are stressful there's no time for that Comment from : @Lotfikaz |
Maybe I skipped it, but what do you record the footage into, into the external monitor, or a separate card altogether? I'm aware that you need powerful cards if you want record 6k though I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck, and I'm trying to figure which is the best recording method Comment from : @alanalinalen2975 |
I enjoy watching your video, question Does the black magic 4k has fstop apture ? not sure how to find it Comment from : @lionroots11 |

5:1 or 8:1 compression for paying clients, and not 3:1? Your SSD easily captures 3:1, and 3:1 makes a huge difference when pulling a key during the grading process, or when dealing with any underexposed areas The BMPCC 6K's compression already disproportionately negatively weights the shadows even at 3:1 The resulting advantages of shooting at 3:1 are noticeable when viewed on a large monitor or 65" TV, which are found in most every home Lift yourself from the constricting, earthly bonds of YouTube, and shoot for the stars, my friend Comment from : @BarrettBramstedt |
About iso,if you're using a base of 400 or anything below 1250 you can change it in resolve so it doesn't really matter what you choose ,you can decide later Comment from : @billzidis2656 |
So happy to get this Video as a Buttery Client, thank you very much!! brhere just 2 questions: br- why 2398 and not 24fpsbr- have you tested contax zeiss lenses brin comparison to leica r? Comment from : @fabianunternaehrer7402 |

Hey Matteo! I was wondering what your solution is for the IR contamination problem with the BMPCC 6k? Is that a problem for you at all? I found this these filters from rawlite that replace the inbody filtration Would you use an internal or external solution? Thank you! Comment from : @SeverinWerner |

For client work i record everything in HD B Raw is a luxery the client has to pay Comment from : @mcdandy1 |
Hey Matteo, big fan of your work, constantly inspired! ( I'm right at the beginning of my experiences with cameras) I wondered if you had any recommendations for relatively fast vintage wide angle lenses for the camera? I already use vintage Nikon 50mm 14 and Nikon 28mm 28, but struggling to find a faster 28mm or anything below that focal length The crop on the camera makes it a little difficult in tight spaces for me I know you have the Leica 19mm, do you think you have to spend that kind of money to get the kind of thing I'm after? Comment from : @kyanstudios |
Thanks man I learned so much from your videos! Why does the screen not show which Iris you´re at tough? Comment from : @christophfaistauer |
