I've had a dedicated little RPi2 with a generic 320x240 LCD touchscreen hat thing connected to it sitting on my desk for a while I originally configured it to use rpix86 to emulate a DOS machine, but I had a few small issues with that Turns out DOSBox is waayyy better anyway, so I turned to that instead Configured the RPi to run DOSBox fullscreen on boot, and the wonderful thing about the 320x240 LCD is DOSBox seems to handle that low resolution perfectly Since most dos games require no more than 640x480, the LCD will scale the image correctly, AND at 320x200 or 320x240 resolutions, it runs natively to the LCD which produces a really nice imagebrbrbrThere are even some fancy special kernel modules someone made that makes the whole thing run much faster, LCD update-wisebrbrbrI really want to find out if I can get the LCD running on this Dosbian thing :) Always wanted a handheld dedicated DOS box :)

Now this really interests me thanks Dan I spent a lot of time playing with DOSBox and also an optimised fork for the Pi which was since abandoned but proved that the Pi3 could run it a lot quicker I was getting around486 25mhz speeds I'd guess on the Pi3 Your demos seem a lot nicer, and Windows seems snappier even if not perfect Very useful thank you!

Interesting little setup, keep meaning to get a Pi to play with although the longer I leave it, the better they become! Mostly games from the Amiga era, how well does it run the 3D stuff I used to love playing like Descent, Magic Carpet, Doom, Duke 3D, X-Wing etc? Follow-up video?brPS I've made a note not to get into a car with you as driver 😉
