In 2007 when I spent three months in New York, I talked to someone from the "Museum Of Native American Heritage" who also made a TV documentary in the nineties and he told me that the first settlers to arrive on Manhattan were from Belgium When the Dutch arrived the Belgians went across the Hudson to start settlements like "Hoboken (a village that is part of Antwerp, Belgium)" and "Milbrook (Molenbeek in Flemish, part of Brussels, Belgium)"
