Like alot of people have said I only use box dyes Everytime ive gone to a salong they charge me 300 dollars or more and make mistakes Ive grown up using box dyes and never had a problem with them I mostly use revlon I have had the best results with them Ive practically done every color But also applya box color ober top of old box color and havent had a problem But im also really relaxed when it comes ro my hair I try to take good care of my hair too with only washingnit once a week and doing oil treatments and hair mask

Just a personal view, often my hairstylist are like "oh this looks awful" and I'm like "I love how my hair looks" hubby loves it, mom loves it so, I guess my audience is most ppl and not professionals 🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s what I did I went red and my hair had dark brown still in it and it didn’t cover I only got bright red roots now and dark brown and light brown mix in my hair now I wanna go over it with dark brown now

Question: I have light brown hair I recently used a really light blonde box dye and my hair turned yellowish orange Could i technically use a toner of level 7 or 6 to neutralise the yellow into a more light brown blonde colour?

Luckily my mom is a former hairdresser and taught me how to apply it properly I think for most people doing their hair at home is because they can’t afford the salon I would absolutely love to be able to go to a salon and be pampered every couple of months That sounds like heaven The reality is, I simply can’t justify the expenditure on myself I have a family and someone always needs new clothes, shoes, school supplies, braces, etc, I can’t spend that money on myself I have to figure out how to do it for myself So I appreciate that you know not everyone can afford salon services

Loved this video Ive went to my hairdresser for years for cutting and braids, but i colour my hair at home always use the same colour and brand And dont get me wrong id love to be able to get it professionally coloured but i cant afford it And my hairdresser knows this so she gives ne tips and i always used to get into trouble from her, because when im dying my hair its to do my roots to cover my greys 🤦 i would always take the colour right to the tips and she said if i kept doing that i would turn the ends black My hair is dark brown but i have been dying it a dark red/purple for years I really would love to be back to my natural colour with some blonde and light brown highlights but i know if i try to remove this dark purple its gonna ruin my hair x

L'oreal has a specific red box dye , I dropped on a human lace wig And honey, the amount of positive comments were flooding in non stopno one would believe it wasn't done by a Hi-end salonIts all in the application and timing But to shame, a client for using a box dye Instead of education, like some hairstylists I know Will definitely cause a client to not return

I appreciate the tips I have super short hair, so I'm not too worried about long term effects, as any color that goes into my hair will be cut out completely within about 6 months I usually get my hair colored at the salon, but it's so expensive and right now money is tight I just want to cover up the grays and enrich the color a bit, as my hair is kind of a gray-brown color naturally I'm also pretty heavily graying

There is actually nothing wrong with box color I can tell you this, I went to school for cosmetology and yes, they will tell you don’t use it, don’t use the shampoos and conditioner’s from the store because it’s all detergents! Not true! Salons just want to make money and yes sure it feels good to get your hair done by a professional especially if you don’t know what your doing, some hair professionals well don’t really do such a professional job, so hey , you do you!! I know I do! I use box color, I use shampoos and conditioners from the stores, it’s all bull!!! Use what works for you and makes you happy guys!!❤

I don't color my hair anymore but did for about 25 years The best colors i ever got was from a box dye, not a hairdresser Also the time I save doing it always at home was a huge part too Loved it And of coursenot going broke :)

Nobody should go to communal hairdressers as its the best place to catch skin infections of scalp etc especially if they are doing footcare and using same sinks to dispose of dirty water I am talking about specifically in UK

EVERY time I've gone to the hair salon I've come out with OPAQUE Black hair when asking for brown, the only way it looks dimensional is if I pay an extra 100 for highlights :(

If someone is going to box color for whatever reason go to the beauty supply store and get decent color and developer It'll cost the same as a box color but you'll get multiple uses out of it and the staff at all the beauty supplies I've been to know basic color formulation I always ask them "this and that" and I'm a licensed hairdresser I like to see that they're able to help non-professionals Another thing watch tutorials online!?

I have to say I do agree with you on that I’ve died my hair at home so many times and never really got the color that I wanted So I recently died my hair It was supposed to be cherry red, but it came out like a dark auburn but not to mention I originally dyed my hair brown because I had blonde highlights and I forgot to put red proteins cellar in my hair before I died my hair brown, so it came out the first time it came out like a green tint so I dyed my hair that cherry red, but it didn’t come out the way I wanted it so now I have to go to my hair salon and have her fix my hair, so yes I do agree you get better results you get your moneys worth also, I appreciate you sharing these tips didn’t know about the blonde part I knew that my hair would turn orange it’s happened many times but I didn’t know you were supposed to apply it at the ends first so didn’t know that one that’s a good thing to know but yeah, I am stuck with dark auburn hair and all I want is red, so I’m hoping my hairdresser can fix it 😕

I started dyeing my own hair after I went to a salon (working 3rd shift so I dozed off as soon as she left the room after she got some chemical on it) I opened my eyes back up and realized all the people that had been in the room with me were gone so what seemed like two seconds for me was much longer I walked out there and the hairdresser said “you’re still here?!” She looked like straight panic and said she thought she had finished me a long time ago I said, you put me in the back room Now how did she completely forget about a customer - she told me that she triple processed my hair It looked horrible when I left, didn’t even offer a discount, and wanted me to come back to see if she could correct some of what she did Now why would I return if you ruined it once??

Question I use to always go professional as I realize why u should however I got poor So I tried box and it turned orange because my hair was so naturally light when I was younger i didn’t realize now that I am old it got so much darker until it grew out more So it turned orange and I was told I didn’t leave it in long enough This is not true? If I did it again, which I’m not, but if I did, the orange would not go away if left in longer to get it to that bright yellow and than use a toner?

It's a horrible comparison! Nothing beats bAbstinence/b when you're young and if you're not married!brbrWhen you teach something that states that you should bnot/b do a particular thing, you need to stick with that teaching even though you believe that people are not going to follow it and they're going to do what they want anyway It's not up to us to say, "well, they're not going to follow what I say so let me teach them the" safe way" There is no safe way! My hair is almost all white I used Wella Demi-permanent color charm, light ash blond Because my hair is so white, I would have to go in every week to a salon for touch ups Without counting the dollar cost of doing that, the time cost would be high Every week, I mix a small amount of color and only touch up the visible roots Other weeks I might mix up more and hit the roots that are not as visible
