I believe you’re confusing Attitude mode or “Atti mode” with altitude Two very different things Atti mode essentially removes the GPS positioning of the drone allowing it to be affected by the direction of the wind or continue drifting in whichever direction you are flying even if you let go of the sticks, giving the drone more “attitude” than if it was just in GPS mode The Phantom and Inspire series had the ability to switch this mode off and on with a simple switch on the remote, but Dji removed it from future drone models, for what I can only guess as a safety precaution If you let go of the sticks while in Atti mode, you can very easily get into trouble if you’re not paying attention Personally I’m pretty bummed that they removed Atti mode from the newer drones, because it does allow you get much smoother, less jerky looking shots without much effort, but if you’re flying in high winds, it can be more difficult to control the drone vs if it was using the help of the GPS Comment from : Ian MacGregor
