So Sony didn't mess it up, they did what they needed to stay in business Rather than losing money in the handheld market, they shifted focus and did better in another market in another market segment Don't know around the world but here in South Africa the Ps4 is still holding value and the PS5 hasn't gotten any cheaper since launch

Unique titles that showcase the hardware Sony created a bunch of ports that 1) PS owners already had at home, 2) Wasn’t designed for portable gaming, and 3) Sony’s lukewarm efforts to supports its own handheldbrbrNintendo and it’s first party games cracked the code of balancing portable gaming for fun on the go and that’s why nobody can beat Nintendo in portable gaming
