The hash rate is also tied to moores law, those spikes are also caused by more cost efficient chips from 32nm to now 7nm And the cost efficiency is also regressing If there is a new tech revolution, the hash rate will easily spike regardless of btc price it will only adjust to the chip's cost efficiency But big spikes seems unlikely now as moores law is appearing to be dead The only solution is to add more machines which also adds costs so btc price has to rise to justify higher hash rate

It is quite interesting to see that there was a correlation of hashrate in the first bubble which damps out later on Maybe this is effect of long term miners getting in who have at-least mid-term hodling practices? I think this is promising for an investor because the generation is decorrelating from the bubble of the price Another interpretation is that all bubble bursting never reduced the price to levels below profitable for the most efficient miner
