Amazing content well done on sharing daily, will miss the daily content And the quality is excellent still Stay positive and remember people who are honest (representing brands they truly believe) and are genuine will always inspire others and I’m sure you will come out of this hundred times more successful Ps my new daily challenge is doing sudoku! And of course Organising everything Comment from : salma Naaz |
It’s so funny hearing this from your perspective because all these techniques are done I’ve worked in retail for years and these are implemented 😂 Comment from : Madeleine Elizabeth |
I have noticed that bands like zara, h&m etc have clothes sold out very fast but after 2 or 3 days they are back in stock Great strategy to make you buy that item ones it’s back in stock Seeing the item being sold out makes me want it even more I’m sure the item is not sold out it’s just their strategy to make you buy it 🛍🛍🛍 Comment from : Kity |
Josie can you recommend some fashion management related books on a vlog or as a newsletter? I'd love to read more about this topic and I actually picked up the book you recommended last year I believe and that was so refreshing and interesting to read! Love these vids thx! Comment from : Olivia Rodriguez |
I don't know about other people, but honestly, the lighting on Zara's fitting rooms doesn't make me feel better at all🙄😂 Comment from : Neus Pardo Ros |
9:30 wow really? Ruining a nicely folded item might make me feel bad, but I would never try it on because of that Feeling the items is essential when you are looking for garments that will make you feel good If it doesn't feel good, I just put it back Comment from : Fanny L |
Your retail psychology knowledge is amazing! I also find this very interesting Do you remember which books you used/bought for your retail psychology study? Comment from : AEBR1206 |

You're doing a great job coming up with content during this situation! I imagine it's been challenging, especially since other creators are struggling with it too Comment from : 26Sundrops |
bBell bell ! nice new video !/b Comment from : Lisa Chou TW |
It's interesting topic but to me, huge temptation on shopping for me is an influencer like you!!! You bring up so many beautiful items and give me inspo, it's supposed to be a compliment! I can't use affiliate links since they don't work in my country but I love your hauls and looks Thank youbrbrPS Zara brings so many items each season, almost every week Seems like it's in one of the ways Comment from : Hello World |
I discovered a few things last year , I have been slowing down on my shopping I have enough clothing for years Proud of myself , buy more consciously Comment from : Imelda Mayer-Taylor |
You are making me buy those things too, which I don't need rn, sorry Comment from : M J |

This is truly fascinating!!! thank you for sharing love this shopper psychology! Comment from : Brain Storm |
Very interesting video! There a few things that actually don’t work with me personally: first I am shy and I HATE when shopping assistants come and talk to me while I’m in the store It make me feel really uncomfortable Also regarding the size, I am very slim and petite and in some fast fashion stores the smallest size is too big for me I find it really frustrating and this method of making their sizes bigger results in them not being able to sell to girls with a similar built as me Comment from : L A |
Wow I work in retail and I didn’t even know this 🙈 amazing tips ! 😍💗 Comment from : Sophia Hannah |
Great video Josie❤❤❤ Comment from : babita ram |

I'm totally shocked, but not surprised that retailers do these things How can we find out if something isn't made by the branded label??? Comment from : exotichick86 |
Hi Josie This question is off topic, but I'm going to ask it anyway Dyson Corrale or L'Oreal Steampod? My hair is thick, fine to medium, wavy/curly/frizzy, healthy, unprocessed and naturally gray And I live in a very humid climate Thanks for your recommendation Comment from : Jennifer Harris |
Thanks for your honest video Josie! The last tips with that area in the beginning in the shops was a new information for me (but I can immediately remember how it looks inside the front doors in my favorite shops And yes, they have that space) /Marie from Sweden Comment from : Marie Axén |
Such good info! I totally notice that bigger retailers are not sizing or fitting garments to actual humans What shops do you recommend? Asos? I wouldn't think H&M because I notice some stuff doesnt fit right Comment from : Korina Chayrez |
Loved the video Thank you Josie Hope you and yours are well Comment from : Maddie Ferrero |
Just what I've been waiting for!😍 Comment from : MayMayLom |

Nice job Here's one: Having worked as a designer and as a retailer I can tell you that retailers today are so automated that if the factory doesn't ship exactly what was ordered to not only the number of units but down to the exact size and color breakdown, the store has the right to reject and cancel the entire order or charge the wholesaler large penalties So - since manufacturing of fabrics and yarn is not an exact science, if the factory - say - has just enough yarn to knit the right number of units but the size breakdown doesn't work out, they will simply replace the correct size with the missing size label so the store will accept the order without penalty Nice? Probably not Necessary? Probably unless the manufacturer wants to lose millions The stores have become ruthless The lesson? Try on the same garment in different sizes They may fit differently because they are, and don't get upset if something in your usual size doesn't fit Go for the fit and not the size on the tag Big secret Now it's out Comment from : Carol P |
Thank you Darling girl Your business is to influence and sell, but you choose to be ethical and honest Bravo Comment from : Mikki39 |

In inglish estabished busineses are a source of work for many families of that salary they eat dress and pay rent and much more every time a store closes, at least 40 families are affected without their income yr negative comment affects a lot the only one that benefits is you $$$ :( :( :( Comment from : Lucía Zazueta |
Really interesting topic Comment from : Alejandra |

Please tell which face wash you use? Comment from : Diksha Sehgal |
I was so disappointed today because your newsletter had an Elemis special that wasn’t offered to the US Comment from : Francine Puskarich |
This is so so interesting! Comment from : Hannah Prestwood |
YES! WHat Josie says is backed up by decades of research on marketing I was an academic psychologist who taught under grad and grad students WHen I was preparing for my career in the 70s there were not many faculty positions in psych filled by women SoI prepared for multiple career paths just in case I took a grad course in marketing taught by a former Pres of the American Marketing Association at the Kellogg School of Business , part of Northwestern UniveristyI took Industrial Engineering courses at the School of Engineering ie things like time and motion studies and application of psychology to manufacturing motivating workers, etc There is so much research from multiple disciplines now on consumer behavior but most of it comes down to psychology and is fascinating THanks for this fun post!! Comment from : Sybil Francis |
Excellent content Josie! Comment from : TheNeecab |
What's funny as nothing sends me running more than a shop assistant trying to approach me or an empty boutique! Comment from : Olivia Davidson |
thank you for the video beauty - can we just have a talk thru video? The counting down is "cheapening" your video's - 9 things, 7 ways - this is only my opinion beautiful but some of us like you in your full talk - you may not sound rushed presenting as well - please understand this is not a critisim of you - I appreciate the content and love you and your channel It's just my opinion xo Comment from : JLO |
It’s crazy that shops are actually always behind designers because they are always two seasons ahead of the current merchandise That’s another trick they use because you may need the items for Spring even though they are prepping for fall/winter is the pre spring and pre summer items I mean who really needs these? They are very strategic this way and get you to purchase more in the stores or online Comment from : Luci |
I love seeing you everyday Somehow I always end up wanting whaterver you are wearing You look so stilish! 😍 Comment from : Ramona Man |
Very interest Comment from : Maidacrazy21 Ryan |

Another one is whe you are in line to pay there are always affordable things around the cashier Like hair accesories, body sprays, makeup, etc It distracts you while you are waiting in line and you are likely to make an impulse purchase Comment from : Monica Morales |

brThis video reminded me of one of the first times I experienced once of these tricks Remember when you would literally have put ONE foot inside the door of Claire's Accessories and instantly an excessively chirpy shop assistant would greet you and force you to take a basket??🤣🤣🤣 Comment from : Marcella |
