I think about it this way: the probability of A given B should be the total probability of A occurring relative to the total possibility of B occurring This is wrong, though Why do we think about it in terms of the formula as: the probability of A and B occurring relative to that?

I am confused about 1) the origin of the given percentage is that a random number given by the questioner or is that result of another calculation? 2) Based on this data I assume Given you are alcoholic what is the percentage of probability you are male would give a different answer Why would that be the a different number Pecentage of males is the same and percentage of males that are alcoholic is the same
