Years of does National Guard count After 3 tours and 10 years in It seems there is no real difference I still havent gotten charged for annual fees, even after falling off title 10 Maybe because MDay still racks up a months' worth of days if you are in good standing DoD Data base does not seem to differentiate the 2 Thoughts? For someone about to drop big $ on uniforms at the BX, would I get more value out of using the Chase Sapphire as opposed to the USAA Rewards Plus card? Comment from : Gillian Dibich |
Looking at the amex portal, I thought 1 amex point equals $070, so for example ×5 on flights and hotels with the platinum card would equate to 35 cashback Even with the Charles Schwab bonus, this is way lower than the 625 you cited So I'm mistaken that 1 amex point equals $070? Clarification would be appreciated Comment from : NATOenthusiast |
I'm surprised the annual fees are waived for us military for the amount of benefits the cards offer Any update on your recommended cards? I'm stationed in Korea and thinking about applying for the Amex platinum and gold cards Comment from : NATOenthusiast |

For the sapphire, you can redeem your sign up bonus for "Pay yourself Back" and get 15x the points, so 60k points got me 900 in credit card charge reimursement Comment from : Josiah |

I would preferably use the PayPal Mastercard as a 2 cashback card because they don’t have foreign transaction fees unlike the citi doublecash, especially when you’re stationed overseas I also don’t like the customer service from Citi That’s just my opinion of course Comment from : Zachary Kolesar |
Hypothetically, let's say the USAA cash back rewards plus doesn't give you X5 at the commissary Is the commissary considered a US SUPERMARKET? What would be your preferred card for shopping at the commissary and why? Thank you for the video Great stuff as always! Comment from : Nick Shortal |
I applied/approved for one of AMEX's credit cards today Is there a military verification process, or do they verify it automatically? I can't find anything on their website or online about it Thanks in advance Comment from : Pappas |
I'd love to see the same idea based on non service with the same budget, ignoring the sign up For a non-traveler, I've been able to get to 6 cards, all cash back, with a $95 fee Three AmEx, one Chase, one Discover for rotation, and a Capital One only for overseas If I used the PayPal card, I could cut it to 5, and using your grocery budget, I can cut it to 4brbrNice job Comment from : Sam |

Several credit card issuers waive annual fees for active duty military American Express and Chase are the most popular While other credit card issuers may waive fees for active military, they may apply these benefits to credit cards acquired prior to active duty Comment from : Modern Adulting |

6 cards is nothing, so I definitely think it’s manageable Though I’m surprised you didn’t include the prestige or altitude reserve Being that this is a military setup, I personally think you can offset the categories with the easy to use travel credits Save on AF and get the perks that come with them Just my opinion Comment from : Valente Quintero |
Amex just added travel insurance similar to CSR on all of their premium cards Comment from : sladesurfer |

Jake, Amex and Chase have made fairly recent changes to their travel/purchase protections and other backup things (like roadside assistance), Amex increasing theirs and Chase decreasing theirs For things like trip delay, Amex lowered their delay hours to match Chase’s but offers more money in value Things like that are constantly changing and well worth the time to research Also Purchase protections for things like a new iMac or iPad Pro, if you use your Amex, and purchase AppleCare, you will get 2 years of coverage, 1 year for AppleCare and 1 year from Amex Comment from : Chase Boltz |

I am not active duty but my brother in a navy active duty and is one of my authorized user, do I qualify for the annual fee waiver? Comment from : Michael Martinez |
The only caveat I would add about your credit card setup for active duty is that although it is getting better, American Express is still not as widely accepted overseas I just recently PCS'd to the UK and have noticed this, but more places are slowly beginning to accept it Also to everyone that says that 6 credit cards is too much to carry around, I've recently started using contactless payments through Google Pay (Apple Pay works great as well for iPhone users) mostly because Europe has completely moved towards contactless payments These apps enable you to "carry" all 6 of your cards with you simultaneously so no need to worry about having a bulky wallet Other than that, great video with lots of good info and keep it up! Comment from : Daniel Putney |
