I work in a restaurant and I do dishes to help them and one point it was cloged with a butter knife and it kept coming up note the plumbing drain was in the floor so when it came up it fucking flooded the dish pit how ever we got it cleaned Comment from : @gasmaskloner6180 |
You flush with hot water which helps to remove the built up grease in said pipes Flushing with cold water only hardens the grease Grease in your pipes will build up at every fitting and any place that it can catch on to and cause clogs Comment from : @kameljoe21 |
So I'm the only one that has a problem with "leying"?? Comment from : @tintshady2049 |
This should be titled how not to unclog a sink Comment from : @evfrederick3598 |
Wtf just unscrew the disposal and clean it out or if the drain is clogged you could unscrew it to Comment from : @beast_mode4646 |
If you don't have a disposal let some water into both sides of the sink, which ever side has the "P" trap (usually the right side) is the side you want to plunge 1st Have someone hold down the drain plug on the other side Once the water in the plunged side is gone, pull plug on other side and plung it as needed However I don't recommend plunging your sink Basically as a last resort type of thing Comment from : @JoeNathan42420 |
This rarely works Comment from : @kennyrogers3919 |
We are in a water shortage, I'm telling on you for wasting water when you can clearly by a snake for more money when we are in a recession Comment from : @4x4jeep |
Yeah as a plumber that don't always work need 2 plungers 1 on each side and that always doesn't work and after use hot water to help break up the grease that's in the pipe not cold Comment from : @aaroncarmichael5548 |

Awesome Comment from : @kevinhogannyboss |
Disclaimer: only 30 effective Even though you stop up one side of the drain and plunge the other the velocity of the disposal will often just send the backed up water up the vent pipe behind the sink making one think they got it DO NOT PLUNGE THE DISPOSAL SIDE!!! You will blow the gasket out and you’ll need to replace the disposal If you’re certain the drain is open after chasing it with cold water run some very, very hot water down the drain to remove build up Comment from : @jp360ford2 |
If you ever have a blockage, especially in a kitchen Use hot water because the grease won't solidify and may even melt some aswell Comment from : @shawnlichtmann977 |
Fill it with about a gallon of white distelled vinegar it dissolves the nasty stuff let it soak for as long as the liquid will hold in the sink Comment from : @joelfranklin827 |
Very dangerous the plunge an under mount sink! I've seen many of them through the years ripped right off I'm the guy that gets call to fix them Comment from : @claudio6863 |
The safest and most effective way to unclog a toilet or a sink is to boil a good amount of hot water (big pot) and pour it directly down the drain (or into the bottom of the toilet)brNine times out of 10 the water will drain brUsually when there is a clog in a sink it's due to food particles, fat/ oils or hair in a toilet #2 Hot water will take care of that nicely ☑️ Comment from : @annk6024 |
What the fuck is leying? Comment from : @Herm785 |
Plumber here, I hate garbage disposals, wish they were banned, that’s what the trash can is for Comment from : @woohunter1 |

Thank you Comment from : @annesweeney5552 |
The principle is correct, but the method is all wrong disposal side fill with hot water, 2-4 inches water in the opposite side, plunge as directed, leave disposal on until empty, repeat until the venturi siphon drains the plunger side Comment from : @dadsquatch2640 |
It's spelled lying Comment from : @the_original_destroyer34r |

Please don't do this Putting to much pressure can blow the pipes apart Not only the sewer side but the vent side also Comment from : @lesliesidwell2654 |
The ptrap needs to be cleared out 100 Comment from : @andrewdavid5174 |
If and when it does go down make sure you look under the sink to check the drain didn’t come loose and is flooding your cabinets Most of the time the T between the disposal and strainer basket is clogged It’s split in half down the middle to prevent water from backing up on the strainer side when disposal is running Comment from : @JoshDavis-id9oy |
And your P-trap fell off oooppss Comment from : @localserenity4046 |
Pouring boiling water down the drain helps to flush the grease down the drain Maybe 2qt pot Comment from : @jerryrigsit5400 |
Never use a plunger on sinks, most undersink p-trap set ups are compression fit specifically for easy cleaning Same reason you dont use one of those compressed air clog removal guns Also that would drain even faster if you pulled the pipes and actuallycleaned them out Comment from : @trevorchelseascott1327 |
You flush with hot water or I guess there is no grease in there lol all that shit and still slow I as a plumber call fail need another service call Comment from : @brucesmith493 |
Hope what ever you pushed down the line doesn't get stuck on the rest of the build up in their line Makes our jobs alot harder as service techs should always follow up with a drain snake by a professional Comment from : @lockedongaming8827 |
Be prepared for New Garbage disposal Comment from : @Big15inchesnobullshits |

First of all, do Not try this at home with out proper supervision! 2nd Never plunge your sink! The drainage pipes underneath your sink is not meant to handle pressure If your sinks are clogged, a real plumber would disassemble that piping and if that doesn't work you would snake the clean-out Comment from : @operator0017 |
Why cold water and not hot? Comment from : @butterfly02081 |
