The best thing you can do to avoid these scams is stop using the Windows Operating system I have used Linux Mint since the end of support for Windows 7 and I have never had a problem

My favorite scam is the simple "hello text message" Scammers simply send a "hello" or "Is this John" or "Hey how was your day?" kind of message They want you to read the message and respond so that they know you have a valid phone number to send you all kinds of spam

For the last 6 months or so, I’ve been receiving paper mail (not email) for three different “companies” that seem to be using my home address fraudulently Why would they do this? I keep writing “return to sender, business not at address” but yesterday I sent back 9 envelopes!

I just got scammed by someone claiming to be with my bank They used the same number as my banks customer service line I got played hard I called the actual banks customer service and they said it should take 10 business days for it to resolve They took all of my money (which thankfully wasn’t much)

Thank you for your great work to alert people on these scams I wish had seen this vdo earlier because I think am in a scam already I live in South Africa and in September this year some 'investment broker' called me on my phone no asking me to trade forex I refused but he kept calling until I opened an account with his firm and depisited $1000 He didn't show me how to withdraw my money and instead of showing me how to trade he is phoning me constantly asking me to deposit more money and he's suggesting big figures like $10k or $20k I told him I first want to withdraw some of my money from the $1000 just to make sure it's legit He ignores my request and keeps nagging me to deposit more I don't know if I'll get back my $1000 and am very worried He said for him to show me what to trade I need to deposit more moneyyet when he initially called me to open the account he promised to help Yesterday he was asking for $100k I told him off and asked him to leave me alone I need a break till January Yet today I see he has sent a text! My mother had been very sick and I think it affected by judgement in this case brbrI think there's a lot of forex trading scams out there

Did you ever talk about scam emails that tell you about a payment that was just charged on your credit card for a service like "Geek Squad" annual membership renewall? I got two emails on the same day that the amounts charged were $399 and $389 When I went to the Geek Squad website, and tried to find my login password by asking for a password-reset email, I never got one, BECAUSE I don't an account with that email!! Moral of the story is: Don't call the 800# in those emails to try to dispute the charge claims
