Is it necessary to remove the BGA's from the ram sticks? Seems like a lot of work After removing the gold fingers, why not jut cut the RAM sticks into 3 pieces and throw the whole thing into the crucible?

That looks like about a 20 pound mill - which means it is designed for about 20 pounds of metal You should be able to mill far more than you were in each load You need to weigh the loads, not guess The mill is at its most efficient with a full load - without overloading - which also maximizes unnecessary wear on the mill balls I would guess that you could handle at least 15 pounds of material each load

After you incinerate the chips you can screen out the chips with steel legs with a magnet I do this before I incinerate so I can process them separately It's easier to remove the legs with a magnet so you can get a very clean ash The copper legs in other chips have to be dissolved away with acid or sifted out It's difficult to get out the copper legs even with sifting because a lot of the pins will fall right through the screen Multiple trips through the screen will get most of them out

Yay!! this is the one I have been waiting for for the last year i have been running boards though A/P Mostly old Bowling scoring boards with about 200 long skinny chips on each with legs down 2 sides So now there is about 5 gallons of chips and other (My) Next step is to rinse and sort I figured easier to just melt off the legs and depopulate at the same time any way as I am "going Walk about until Mid Aug I'm going to just remove the cleaned boards and add more before I leave brLooks like Kens chips are the "same" My ???? is what to do with the Tantalum capacitors betting on 5 pounds of them

NASA used metric and imperial to land on the moon Simply said, computers were programmed in SI units and for display they used imprrial So imperial was more of a cosmetic nature and the mvp was metric ✌️
