My Boss ME-70 had this ‘Hum->Sing Coil’ setting that was a savior for fitting my Blues Jr into our band mix in smaller settings Sure it’s just an EQ with light compression, but…brTurned my Fuzz and TS into very usable tones behind singer Comment from : @jeffreyahanson |

Am I the only guitarist that dislikes chorus? Comment from : @oqsy |

Honestly, this is what makes me smile the most Just turn the gain way up, volume down, hit a chord and let it sustain as a pad With a nice tone that fits well, it’s zero work to play, but really adds to a song Comment from : @thedogdaysmusic3706 |

The GE-7 was one of the earliest pedals I acquired, but remains one of my most under used Probably because I mainly play alone, so I don’t often need to worry about a mix but I should bring it on jams because it is so effective at providing differentiation between guitars as you expertly demonstrated What a loser I’ve become! Comment from : @mantashaft |
I know you guys don't like "reggae" but I think this video says a lot I saw John Mayer with D&C a couple years back and finally "got" the whole Dead thing Mayer was so good br youtube/ZLV-73VF6Tg Comment from : @bradylambert6820 |
Question for the music theorist guys out therebrbrThe progression being played in the intro improv sounds like a 4 2m 6m the key of DbrbrHowever, the tracks in the store says its in BbrbrWhat gives? Comment from : @billphillipstube |

I know what tremolo is, but what exactly is harmonic tremolo? Comment from : @distorson |
That "overdrive as pad" thing is more or less what I do with my slide playing when with a band, or even acoustically with a singer-songwriter folkie artist, which I've been lucky to do on stage a few times now Just quietly fill out the chords with long, sustained slides It's dead easy to do, which is perfect for someone of my limited ability, and sounds great Comment from : @DavidDyte1969 |
Nice job dudes! Comment from : @waynejames2014 |
Honestly brings to mind Angus and Malcolm Young Some of the rhythm layers they created were simply brilliant Shoot to thrill, Have a Drink On me, For Those About to Rock, and many, many more They all used that method Makes the sound broader and fuller Great tips lads It's amazing what effective tidbits you always bring to light Keep it up! Comment from : @MorleyRobertson1975 |

I know I'm a bit late on this, but the walrus monument tremolo LFO can be reset by tapping once on the tempo switch Helps to sync up with the band with just one tap 👍 Comment from : @CliffHawkins |
Nice one boys, cheers I'd just add that multiple simultaneous wobbly guitar parts can be a bit much (in most cases), especially when the vocals are involved Comment from : @SSvebor |
This is absolutely great!!! As a bass player who noodles on the guitar at home and loves pedals, this is the best episode you did yet! Congrats gentlemen! Comment from : @el_kammeroni |

Question:brDo we, as guitarist, ever use Unity Volume or gain?brbrUnity Gain - A condition in a sound system or component in which the output level is equal to the input level, there is no amplification or attenuation, or a gain of 0dB has been achievedbrbrbrOperational amplifiers, operating at unity gain do the least amount of work and introduce the least amount of noise into the circuit; this situation is optimal for setting proper levels and setting proper gain stagingbrbrbrbrAn example as a guitarist would be that I set my compressor pedal level control to unity gain so my guitar is the same volume through my amp whether the effect is on or off I don't want the compressor to boost or decrease the volume Comment from : @colincannings7946 |
Man I gotta say those backing tracks are so fun! great ideagood mix of just guitar sounds and in context! Comment from : @sugarcane503 |
Gentlemen, a very wonderful edition or addition to the back catalogue brAs a lonewolf guitarist going through different ideas and previous demos for a possible self release ep, this video has given me a lot of food for thought in the future recording of elements and parts for possible songs brbrI never envisaged that I would need to buy a tremolo pedal, so damn you both! I should counter that and also say thank you both for giving me more hours to spend working out more complimentary guitar parts 😂🤣 Comment from : @Paul_Abbott_Landsraad_Project |
Great video guys Feels like such an important area which isn't discussed enough on the online guitar community! Comment from : @robbarstow2074 |

Great show! Love how you talked about adding creative style in addition to tone, mix, etc Would love to see a full band show on stage (off hours at a pub or something) Not with an audience, but just an environment and sound guy you'd have to interact with Would be cool if you could film 2 different stages to compare thats a tall order I know Comment from : @joshuacarpenter4456 |

I want to worry about the second complimentary pedal board because it’s just kick ass Comment from : @mantashaft |
Dan there! Loved the intro Mick there too! Lovely complimentary playing Comment from : @mantashaft |
As a sound engineer the comment about the 200Hz to 300Hz low midrange frequencies and room resonance is so important These are frequencies that pile up very easily and muddy up a mix extremely fast, and in both live and studio mixes I will cut some of these from almost every track, often very drastically A lot of microphones have a natural resonance around 300Hz which really doesn't help!brbrbrAlso, that backing track sounds killer and I had to go and buy it It's gonna be a lot of fun improvising some stuff over it Comment from : @dariusliadon |
Been watching and listening for about 4 months All great This one really hits home for me as a guitarist Love it Keep up the good work fellas! Comment from : @dwayneratliff1142 |

This has been one of my favorite episodes so far!! You two really put things into context well A lot of what you talked about I already sort of did, but hearing it explained so well really helps clarify some misconceptions I had brbrOn another note, since we have seen how you both are playing so well together, I propose a challenge for the future A lot of us have had to become mobile to still be able to play and express Not always busking, but living in a city I’m often on the move And yes occasionally it is nice to make a few bucks I am curious as to what you both would approach this Things like pedals that have to take battery’s, or a portable power supply, space saving, amp choice (battery powered or mobile power source), location choice (sound wise) and obviously buskers are usually on a budget Guitar of your choice, one pedal of your choice, and $1000 to get it set up sound fair? Competition on the street between the two of you, 1 hr on the street each, most money wins Or you two just play together Curious to know if this would be worth a go Comment from : @maniacalion6170 |
Great show as always, I love the real work connection shows Two questionsbrbr1 Can you do another “blind” episode? That was a great listening testbrbr2 How did you begin to choose your Schmidt Array colors? My mind is boggled trying to choose a color! Comment from : @PFDarkside |
Loved the show and looks like you were having fun too Now off to download the backing track Comment from : @DavidWilliams-iq3eu |
Awesome show guys! Really enjoyed the new format with lots of context and backing tracks Many valuable "new" tips and yet when you played them, it just sounds so familiar (in a good sense) Comment from : @TheBedroomRocker1 |
Guys, roses are red, violets are blue, this won't rhyme, that opener was awesome! Comment from : @Skwirl719 |
Green Day boulevard of broken dreams uses Tremolo heavy in that song Comment from : @Zippyy444 |
VCQ Comment: If you STILL doubt the validity of cutting out bottom end, just listen to isolated guitar tracks of your best tracks on any of the shows like Rick Beato or Christian Hand and see how ‘thin’ they sound by themselves Page, EVH, even Jimi Blew my mind first time! Comment from : @SlingShot830201 |
MEGA STUFF :-) Comment from : @GazMoz78 |
Of course one of the most effective tools in your armory of rhythm guitar playing, is to stop playing altogether! Dropping out completely for a verse, or even a couple of measures can make a guitar part really pop Plus, I’ve found it’s when my tone is at its finest! 😂 Comment from : @stevebees3992 |
