You Use Epsom salts on Fruiting plants Potatoes sure Carrots Sure Onions sure Only once a season and low amounts Also depends on your type of grounds Works great here on lime rocky ground

Epsom salt adds magnesium and some sulphur It is soluble and washes away pretty fast It also helps PH balance the growing media Garden lime will PH buffer the soil or growing media , it contains calcium and magnesiumIt will also PH buffer the soil to 7 and will not let it get above 7

Epsom Salts are great and always had great success using it Plants are greener and fruit sweeter I suspect your using too much and or too often Otherwise test you soil for other hidden issues

the problem is that u used way too muchepson salt have to be used with caution and very little1/2 teaspoon per every 5 gallons of water (RAIN water)

Add calcium nitrate if you use epsom salt or even if you don’t It prevents blossom end rot and tomato cracking Best results come when you add before flowering

If you over do it, it’s bad I do once every 3-4 weeks 2 tbsp per gallon of water and root drench, and I put a couple tablespoons when I plant Sometimes a foliar feed No problems I think if it’s over done, definitely bad

Nutrient uptake is based on pH, especially in grow bagsbrbrThe Epsom salt is not meant to be used every 2 weeks It also will burn your foliage if used as a spray in direct sun

If you had your tomatoes in a container they probably got to much Epsom salts because it had no way to leech out into the soil it was contained to the pot Blossom end rot has a lot to do with watering

A lot of times blossom end rot is due to poor watering not lack of calcium Containers dry out very fast in sumer and you might want to water them twice a day My mom had that problem last year so I told her to water twice a day in the sumer heat and it went away If your soil drys out the tomato plant can't get to calcium from the soil therefore you get blossom end rot I hope this helps you out

Is it really that the atoms of magnesium are "much smaller" than those of calcium? If the smallest atom weight is 1 and the largest is 266, the relative difference between calcium and magnesium doesn't seem too big (40 vs 24) I think possibly the answer is that this isn't well understood, or more likely that it's not easily explained

I buy tums antacid and cheap multivitamins with minerals when transplanting tomatoes into garden, I throw 5 tabs of each into the hole I guarantee you that you will have no blossom end rot plus unbelievably tasty intense red tomatoes ! I sprinkle 1/2 cop of rosin salt on top of soil once the plant is established I water only using bubblers and I remove tomato stems from ground up 8 inches or so to improve air flow around plant Having amazing results! Only problem is the plants get so big and heavy with fruit they twist and bend my tomato cages! Nice problem to have!

Your soil composition has a lot to do with fail results,if you check your soil before adding anything you’ll know,either do the test yourself with a kit you can buy,or send it to your agricultural center in your city to analyze it for youSoil defers on your property from one area to another,so testing one spot doesn’t mean it’s the same all over
