It's sad that some "remastered" games doesn't look quite good as the original in some games Still, there are a few remastered games that does do the job done brExample Battlezone, Diablo 2 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

7:14 original Crysis was much better in portraying what makes water so scary- it looks much more murky, vast and deep The modern water is just shiny

1:56 the details of Phsyco's face were off due to the subsurface scattering shader effect which it was unknown back 2007 , they exaggerated the effect a little bit that's the problem i guess

i'm playing the original crysis 2 again, man this game own's nothing to a modern game, in fact, some things still better than the last far cry, for examplebrit's incredible what Crytek managed to do, I hope they release some next level game again with crysis 4

one thing i never understood is why they never improve the AI in remastered games The improve visuals, sound and all but never improve the core of the game itself, the gameplay In this case one of the reasons why i like crysis 2 and 3 a lot more than 1 is the improve in stealth In crisis 1 the AI is soo broken that there is a 50/50 of chance that every enemy either has xrays or is blind making stealth such an afterthought in comparison in how stealth works in the sequels

If I understand this right, Crysis Remastered was developed over the Xbox 360/PS3 port of Crysis, which was a port of the game to the more console-optimized Cryengine 3 (The PC version used Cryengine 2) A lot of graphical effects were cut in order to get it to work on the 360 and PS3 Because of this, I assume that is why there is a lot of graphical effects missing and a noticeable visual downgrade overall

You didnt mention the worst remaster feature of all, the nanosuit system of crysis 2 and 3 forced into crysis 1 In the original you had speed and strength modes, in 2 and 3 you didnt They put that in the remaster and it ruined the game for me The good thing is apparently they listened to the feedback and they included the classic nanosuit mode in an update They also added all the levels of the original Now you can play the same game but with the new look

I just have finished Crysis remastered I always loved this trilogy and have played all 3 multiple times on max difficulty I must admit I really enjoyed the remastered version but one thing that made me cringe hard were the new faces textures in cinematics They were absolutely ATROCIOUS They looked like their skin is peeling off of the skull That one thing kind of left me trying to forget and skip cinematics Luckly I got all 3 games on promotion on steam so I can't complain about 18£ for whole trilogy Just 6 quid per game For anybody who is big fan of the series like myself I recommend strongly to get it on discount I know I will be playing this trilogy again in couple of years as I do with all my most favourite games To all the people who never played it and just wanna check it out I probably would suggest the original trilogy Each game takes 3 times less space (Crysis OG 6GB vs Crysis REM 19 GB, it's even bigger difference with other 2 games)

As average of a remaster this is I find this the version to play for myself (Maybe because I bought it on sale for $170 lol)brI find remaster working better on my system unlike the old version plus it has some minor gameplay tweaks I find good, like you running faster with armor mode, checkpoints without quicksaves so no more save scamming and it feels like power regenerates a bit quicker providing for more aggressive gameplay (Played on Normal)brPro tips:brSettings Higher than ihigh/i are overkill, did not noticed any differencebrRTX pretty much halfs your FPS (RTX 3080 TI) for difference you will not ever notice in gameplay, recommend keeping this off Like c'mon reflections on car glass and some walls is not worth half of the FPSbrDLSS Quality at 4k is pretty much the same as using other Anti Aliasing settings but gives you about 15 FPS Considering the game high grass and leafs density it is working good although maybe only for me brWith all that, for me game is running at about 100 FPS average

the thing is, the original Crysis was so advanced and had so good graphics because it was 100 developed for PC only, so it wasn't limited to shitty consoles hardware Which was the last AAA game that was exclusively developed for PC? The remaster looks awful compared to the original by the way
